Another Day, Another Concert

Got another concert under my belt for this year. Went Sunday night to Ram's Head Live! in Baltimore with Earl and my brother. It was a pretty awesome club. Plenty of room and plenty of bars. It was the Jagermeister Music Tour with Hatebreed, Type O Negative and Three Inches of Blood. Sorry to fans of Three Inches of Blood but I thought they were terrible. I can appreciate 80s sounding metal but not these guys. Listening to them was like punishment for a sin I didn't commit. Earl and my brother agreed. When Type O came out I could barely recognize Peter Steele. I swear he is a shadow of his former self. Since the last time I saw Type O it looks as though he has lost more than 100 lbs. There are rumors that he is either sick or on hard drugs. Either one is unfortunate. They did okay but I think butchered a couple of their own songs. Still good, but they were better other times I saw them. Now Hatebreed was purely awesome. This is the first time I've seen them with their new guitar player. Good stuff! Jamey Jasta is still at the top of his game and doesn't show any signs of slowing down. Keep up the good work guys, I'm anticipating another album. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely return to the club.

Gigantour

Went to Gigantour last night w/Megadeth, In Flames, Children Of Bodom and Job For a Cowboy. It was a great show. In Flames was awesome as always, and Bodom was good too but didn't play very long. It's one more show under my belt and a great way to continue another awesome weekend. This summer is hopefully gonna kick ass.

Frederick made it into the Headlines

Today in Frederick (where I work, not where I live), a sinkhole collapsed on I-70 into a hole 14 feet wide and 20 feet deep. I heard about this at work and found it online on FoxNews. Traffic was backed up for miles and that side of the highway is going to be shut down at least the rest of the day. What 's funny is that my company employs truck drivers. Needless to say, many of them were not back yet when I left for the day.

This is like a similar incident that happened yesterday, not miles from this one, also on I-70. Cows were roaming the highway. Yes, I said cows. Apparently, a cattle truck had somehow let some of them go. Surprisingly, that story did NOT make the news...

So, Frederick made it into the news. The last time was when the President was here. Which story is more interesting? You decide...

Good Weekends

This past weekend was great. Went out of town to Keith's up in Pennsylvania for an outdoor music festival. I have to say I had a lot of fun, aside from the nasty sunburn on my neck. Wasn't really impressed by the bands, but it was enjoyable anyway. Nice venue but it was mostly empty due to the lack of turnout.

That night we all decided to go to a genuine haunted house. Hey, we were bored so what the hell. We had a real hard time finding the place and when we did, we were so unsure if it was the right house that we never really got to explore much. We didn't enter as it looked like there were still some things inside although the place was supposed to have been abandoned. We did find a pretty creepy abandoned trailer along the same road, but not fun because haunted it was not.

Sunday was interesting as Jason came from Frederick to hang out and go to Best Buy. I've lived in H-Town for like 18 months and it's the first time Jason came to hang out. I got to show him around Hagerstown and he realized that he really liked it. I didn't like it before I moved there either, but now I love it.

Here's a funny set of words: "Ass Clown" The reason I bring up this term is because there is a guy here at work that is so goofy, so dorky, so stupid that it defies the imagination. I have finally come up with a term that accurately describes this guy Terry. He is an Ass Clown, plain and simple.

Haven't been submitting to TV.com much lately as I've gotten on a roll watching some really good movies, haven't had much time for TV. That should change soon, Hell's Kitchen is on tonight. HELL YEAH!!!

Finally reached 1000!

Today I have finally reached 1000 submissions. Took me about 18 months and a LOT of time on TV.com. Many other people have done this and far beyond 1000, but this is a milestone for me so I had to make it known. My submissions vary so widely across all sorts of tv shows. The show I have submitted to the most is "Dinosaurs". The editor was kind enough to make me TC.

In other news, the recent passing of my grandmother has revealed a startling revelation. Apparently my grandmother had a few children before the age of 21 that were taken away from her by the state. I don't believe she ever got to see them again. These kids were before my Dad or any of my aunts and uncles. It's crazy what you learn about people. I don't judge her for a second and I'm sure it wasn't easy for her to talk about. So, am i angry she didn't tell me? Not at all. I wish she was still around so I could tell her that I'm sorry about what happened, but it was not meant to be. :(

In happier news, I'm home today. Came home early from work sick. My stomach has just been killing me here this past week. I think everybody has ONE major complaint that they could change about a recurring pain in their body. For me, it's my stomach aches.

Well, to all those other members of TV.com that have reached 1000 submissions, congrats to you. 5000 here I come!!!

Top score & Back to Work

One of my newest accomplishments on the wonderful website known as TV.com is my "Top 1000 Score in community" achievement. With my recent week off, I've had a lot of time to watch various shows and make submissions and the "Top 1000 in community score" is like a nice pat on the back.

I recently submitted a lot to the show Lost. I just got into it on a whim and I've very glad I did. I've never had a show keep me scratching my head AND keep me coming back for more. After finishing Season 1, I do have to say if you are currently not a fan, become one. It really is a terrific show.

Today I'm back at work and I do have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I figured there would be stacks of papers on my desk waiting for me that my co-workers refused to touch. To my amazement, my desk was pretty much clean. It was nice not to be swamped upon my return.

I may have to do some travelling to Pennsylvania and New Jersey in the near future. I would like to see my grandparent's in McConnellsburg and I'd like to go snowboarding with my friend Earl who lives in York. My cousin is also asking me to come to Jersey to check out his place and hang out. Apparently he's just minutes away from Philadelphia. I shouldn't have much problem finding my way around with my new GPS. I've seen some models that are much better than mine, but its my first one and I bought it pretty much as a trial run to see if I really liked them. Maybe in the future I will upgrade but for now this one will work just fine.

Not much else to say. In the meantime, keep on keeping on.

My grandmother passed away

Yesterday, my Grandmother, Mary, passed away. She was 71 and just missed her 72nd birthday by days. I'm going to miss her terribly but I'm really thankful for the time I did get to spend with her. She really suffered this past year and I'm glad she isn't any more. Losing a loved one sucks...

Two Candidates Drop Out?

Today, two Presidential candidates dropped out of the race. Democratic candidate John Edwards and Republican candidate Rudy Giuliani. Apparently Giuliani is going to back John McCain now. I wonder what this means for the other candidates. I think a lot of votes that would have gone to Edwards will go to Obama and I think that Giuliani's base will go with McCain. I'm still undecided personally, I can find faults with each candidate, both Republican and Democrat. Opinions are very welcome....

President Bush Arrives

So shortly after a write a blog on President Bush, what happens? He comes to my town. Not only my town, but a block away from my work. He was there to make a speech on a new economic stimulus plan to revive the economy. It looks as though Mr. and Mrs. Joe Taxpayer can expect a check from the government at some point. Nice... I was hoping it was something open to the public but I actually tried to go over there on my lunch break. Turned out my lunch break was right when he was arriving. I couldn't get very far because there were police everywhere and they had one side of the road blocked off. It was really holding up traffic and creating major problems and I knew if I continued to try and get closer, it would make me late getting back to work. It was so close I could have walked but I can't cross that major road on I-85, wayyyyyy too dangerous. I was really hoping to meet the Pres, that would've been pretty cool. Below is the article from my hometown newspaper, check it out.

So Bush visits the Middle East today...

It's the 2008 Bush Middle East Tour!!!! Bush visits the Middle East today including Israel, United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, etc. It's hard to believe this is his first trip over there since he's been president. I would have figured he would have done this long before now. He was received in Tel Aviv complete with a red carpet and the entire Israeli cabinet. They're really going out of their way to be accommodating. I guess that's a good thing, we help out that country a lot. He's over there pushing for continued peace talks between Israel and Palestine. It would be a great thing to happen but unfortunately I don't see it happening any time soon. Hopefully Bush makes it back allright. The Middle East is a dangerous place, how terrible would it be for a United States President to be killed on foreign soil. I shudder to think...
