With the recent news that the Sci-Fi Channel will not renew Stargate SG-1 for another season, at first I was very disappointed to hear this. The more I think about it, the more I think it might be a good thing. For one, Atlantis has surpassed SG-1 in terms of fresh new ideas and I believe it has become a better show at this point. Also, there is news of another spinoff show that I believe will eventually replace SG-1. New show will bring new ideas and this is what I am looking forward to. Maybe this will not be the end for the Stargate franchise but a new beginning.
