This is a question I asked way back when. And it still doesn't make sense to me. But I'm over 18 now so I don't really care :)Samwel_X

It's a group or individualwho has certain characteristics for them to be deemed "emos". Generally, people are called emos for their dress styles, their hair, their taste in music, or if they're seen with scars from cutting their wrists.

There was recently a topic in this forum asking why prostitution is illegal. That got me thinking, and now I wonder why some games and DVD's are given an 18 certificate, given the current laws on sex.

Think about it. At 16 I will be allowed to have penetrative sex, and engage in sexual acts with another consenting 16+ year old. There will be nothing sexually that I couldn't do legally with my consenting partner. And yet, I have to wait another two years before I am actually allowed to view this sort of sexual activity in fimls or certain games, despite being legally allowed to actually DO everything a full two years earlier.

I am not proposing that we raise the minimum age to have sex, and I am not saying we should lower the age required to watch sexual activity in films or games- doing either will spark an outrage from some generation or other in the community. I'm just saying, the law seems to have its priorities mixed up.

Let me know what you think!

PS- I am not talking about games or DVD's given an 18 rated certificate for swearing, drug misuse, or violence. But games and DVD's given an 18 certificate purely because of the sexual activity within seems a little mixed up.
