In answer to my, erm, answerer: you've basically confirmed what I've been saying. The old PSP wouldn't be able to play the new PSP games if a new PSP had 2 analogue sitcks. I've never said otherwise. I'm just saying that technically it IS possible to bring in another analogue stick. I also said that other consoles have released newer consoles in the past where new games aren't compatible with old consoles. I don't see anything wrong with my scenario.

Anyway, I beg to differ with your view on a second analogue stick- I think it would enhance many games. Ever tried playing Medal of Honour? The button system to adjust your aim, I find, is rather frustrating. All FPS games have lost out with the lack of a second analogue stick- any shooting game out there has to resort to an automatic lock on aim just for the game to be PLAYABLE!

I think it's very possible. The Game Boy colour was fine, then the Game boy advanced came along. The GBA could supports both GBA and GBC games perfectly fine, but the GBC could not support GBA games.

The same could happen here. Say, for example, the "PSP2" comes out with a brand new analogue stick. This new PSP would be slightly bigger so that the stick could be squeezed onto it. New games, lo and behold, have a whole new stick to play with. The PSP2 can still play the old PSP games- just ignore the new analogue stick. I very much doubt that the old PSP could play the new PSP2 games.

I don't see what everyone is getting so worked up about here. Sony have done it before with the PS1 and the PS2- the PS2 could play PS1 games, but the PS1 couldn't play the PS2 games. If a new analogue stick were introduced, the same would happen here, with the PSP. The original PSP owners would no doubt miss out on the new games- that would be a shame. But other consoles have done this in the past.

Sorry, I'm going to sound really stupid now, but I can't find the instructions. If anyone can just give me a link directly to the download page, I would be eternally grateful!
