When nobody in this thread realizes that Ampere uses Tensor Memory Compression which utilizes the Tensor cores for up to 40% memory compression turning a 8 GB 3070 into an 11.2 GB 3070 and a 10 GB 3080 into a 14 GB 3080. Using the 3070 for 1440P and the 3080 for 4K is mooooore than enough with those numbers for years to come. Topping it off with NVCache and you got a DLSS/Raytracing card that far exceeds the new consoles and Radeon 6000 cards.

This comment is so unbelievably true it's not even funny. When are console players going to realize that FLOPS don't really mean anything in real world performance. The whole TFLOPS argument is almost as bad as the Ghz argument. Architecture is what makes hardware perform. Not numbers on a peice of paper. NVidia cards have always outputted less floaterpoint performance compared to AMD cards but they always come out ahead. With the PS4 Pro being equivalent to an RX 480 it's going to be pretty weak when compared to anything that is a GTX 1060 and up. Hell, even my GTX 980 Ti will blow it out of the water.
This should have been posted in the PC thread. Consolites will never understand any of this and will just bash it all day long. Other then that it looks amazing. Can't wait to play it!
Hermits with their 460GTX cards trying to convince everyone else that they can max out games at 4k/120 with ease. Check out the benchmarks for high end cards like Titan, 780GTX and the R9 290x:
1920x1080 | R9 290 | R9 290X | GTX 780 | GTX 780 Ti | GTX Titan |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Metro 2033, Very High, 4x MSAA | 44.1fps | 51.5fps | 47.5fps | 51.8fps | 49.0fps |
Metro: Last Light, Very High, SSAA | 43.2fps | 46.6fps | 40.7fps | 48.9fps | 43.0fps |
Hitman: Absolution, Ultra, 8x MSAA | 52.3fps | 55.2fps | 47.0fps | 53.0fps | 49.8fps |
Sleeping Dogs, Extreme | 64.8fps | 67.8fps | 61.0fps | 72.0fps | 66.5fps |
lulz, the same reviewer of the 290x review mentioned locking Crysis 3 to 30fps as it fluctuates all over the place.
Ultra, Very High, Extreme, 4xMSAA, 8xMSAA.... I don't see consoles running those games at those settings.
True story. I bet consoles at those frames would have to be at very low to minimal settings at 720p and still struggle.

I see your point, but I was trying to separate the idea that physical thievery was the same as digital thievery. Basically the people that say online pirates should have their hands cut off make me feel sick. So what they're saying is that even troops deployed should be punished for their involvement with this. It's just soo stupid.
Wow, all you people resent this on an extreme level. Try deploying to the AOR. All we did was pirate games and movies off that slow ass internet. They even had bizaars(Afghani shops) that sold pirated movies, games, music, etc on a military installation. All condoned by the USA. The government doesn't care. They have way bigger fish to fry than piracy, however they are obligated to act if a movie/videogame companies want a settlement from software pirates. Sure support your video game companies, but online piracy is in no way shape or form the same as thievery, so lighten up people.
[QUOTE="BatmanBegins24"]You can't compare the to.Crysis by far looks better.Especially if you have seen it in play.Being able to destroy EVERYTHING is incredible.I can shoot down trees or break down buildings. It's all destructible and beautiful.JAMES_L_BROOKS
wait when did gameplay become a factor in this thread???, and you can do that too in KZ2 btw
Because if anyone has an IQ of atleast 50 you know that destructible environments is part of the graphical look of the game.
[QUOTE="majadamus"]Wow, the 360 got pwiz0wned this week. I didn't think the PS3's price drop would help this much. myke2010I don't think it's the PS3's price drop as much as the upcoming 360 price drop. Nobody in there right mind would buy a 360 right now when we all know it'll be cheaper later this month.
Agreed 100%
