@Double-Ego @clynch0527 its also rumored the ps3, not sure about xbox, that it will be upgradable. the only thing i can take from that is they mean kind of like driver updates to add features what the hardware is capable of.

@Double-Ego @clynch0527 which is why they are saying it will outpower most pcs, because of the way its built. the next gen consoles are built up to the stands of a mid range gaming pc.

@Double-Ego @clynch0527 thats another thing, the architecture of consoles are completely different than a pc. this generation will be the first time it will be almost similar to pc hardware.

@Double-Ego @clynch0527 I know what youre saying, the wording was different. Yes it requires hardware to run a dev kit, but its strictly software. And one thing you said that the hardware of the pc and the console were the same. Thats why multiple computers are needed to create a game for a console, because believe it or not, you need something probably 20x more powerful than the console to create the game. (i could be exaggerating with that number)

@Double-Ego @clynch0527 Thats the thing, when a sony or M$ gives a company a dev kit, they arent giving them any hardware what so ever, its up to that company to already have the hardware. I have the unity engine and the Unreal Engine on my pc at the moment. To give an example. My pc specs are as follows
2x gtx 650ti, 16gb ram, 3.1ghz 8 core processor, 2tb of space. I can't even run the engine to its fullest power from just the one pc. All the computers are equipped with a dev kit and the engine they are working in, and when the game is being rendered/created, all these computers are working together to do so.

@Double-Ego Youre still wrong on the dev kit thing. The XDK (Xbox development Kit) is an SDK (SOFTWARE development kit) and is used to write SOFTWARE. The computer has to be more powerful than the actual console in order to create the software for it. The dev kit is specifically designed to write the code for the game to make it read and work on the console. Think of emulating a console on a pc. To run a PS2 emulator on a PC requires a more than "good" pc to get it to run perfectly at a good framerate. My PC obliterates the specs of a PS3, but if an emulator was available, I still would not be able to run the emulator. Thats why when these large companies create the games, they have to network their computers to do so. The small games on the marketplace and psn, however do not require so much power.
