He Nominated Me For What?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

So last night, Mom told me that my band teacher nominated me for the Student of the Month in the local newspaper. I was shocked! I didn't think I'd be nominated for Student of the Month! I was even more shocked that he nominated me! I mean, I gave a terrible performance on the concert last week. (See my blog "That Was A Night Of Horrors!") What did I actually do right? I mean, to put it bluntly, I suck. Maybe it's his way of convincing me to stay in band next year in high school.

Sometime this week, someone from the paper will interview me. I know I'm gonna blow it, but it'll still be cool to be in the local paper again (the first time was during this fair, and someone took a picture of my dad and I and put it in the paper)! But then they have to take my picture, and I hate taking pictures.

That Was A Night Of Horrors!

For me, last night was a night of horrors.

I spent almost half of the day at school. I get to school at 9 am. I left at 8 pm because of a band concert.

The concert was a complete disaster. One kid from the other school who was participating lost his sheet music (He eventually found it...after they played). Then, when we went up, we sounded pretty good. But another kid and I pretty much turned Overture on a Minstrel Tune and the King Across the Water into a squeaking contest that pretty much ruined the whole thing.

I won. :|

God, I'm not gonna hear the end of it on Friday. "Who the hell was squeaking so loud?" "That freakin' jerk ruined the piece." "Blah, blah, blah!"

And I have another one next Friday. Crap! (I'd actually say something more profane) Why me!?! And that's on a day off! WTF?! And I have another one at the end of April, and an overnight trip in late May! Why does he do this to me!?! (again)

I really suck at the clarinet. Hopefully, I'll quit before high school if my band teacher ACTUALLY LISTENS TO WHAT I HAD TO SAY! (I'm yelling because last year, I didn't want to do band again, but the band teacher signed me up anyway) I'm so pissed...

Thanks for reading. I hope you guys had a better April 2nd than me.

I Met Greg Oden!

I wish! But I was pretty close.

Today, at one of the Dick's Sporting Goods stores, for their grand opening, some of the Trail Blazers (Travis Outlaw, Sergio Rodriguez, Martell Webster, and Greg Oden) appeared to sign autographs and take pictures and such.

They were there from 2-4 today. And we got there at 3. Bad timing. There was a gigantic line all around the store (and the store was humungous), and led outside of the mall. It was retarded. The line ended about 15 feet from the front door).

At 3:45, one of the employees said that there were 400-500 other people in front of us (we were at the front door at the time) and said that we probably wouldn't be able to meet them today. We left in disgust, after wasting 45 minutes of our time.

So, that kinda sucked.

Also, PLEASE READ THE BLOG I MADE 2 ENTRIES AGO! Thank you!

Lots Of Stuff Happening

Well, today's my last full day with my uncle. He leaves tomorrow back to Denver. Sucks. The week flew by pretty fast for me.

I'm getting a haircut today. Just a trim, because I don't like my hair too short. Then I think we're going to Fry's (a computer store that has nothing to do with the food fries) and Powells bookstore. Hopefully I can find the Fort Minor CD (and hopefully I can find the censored version...if there is one) and the Super Smash Bros. Brawl guide.

Next, we're going to this seafood place for an early dinner, because my uncle sold this power plant thing, or something like that. It's probably more complicated, but all I know is that we're going out to eat seafood, something I really hate and am part allergic to.

Lastly, I'm going to one of the last home Blazer games this season tonight. The game's vs. the Charlotte Bobcats, so I hope it's a good game/victory. But considering the Blazers are pretty much out of the playoffs if they don't win the rest of their games, it probably won't be a sellout.

Oh, and I almost forgot: I made another AMV. This one uses In The End, and if I can have a little time to bring out my ego, it's one of my best. I hope you guys think so too. I'd post a link, but the video's in process right now. I might edit this blog and put it on later. For now, here's a link to my homepage at YouTube. Enjoy, and have a good day!

Garbage Cans, Pepperoni, And Tournaments I Don't Care About: My Trip To Seattle

We left for Seattle at 1:50, right after lunch at Wendy's. We were in a Pontiac G6, my uncle's rental car. It was really small. Even for me. Oh, and it was crammed. A horrible trip. And I accidentally left my iPod in the trunk.

Yeah, it was hell.

I wasn't exactly sure what time we got to the hotel, but looking at the receipt at the time my uncle's credit card was swiped, it was 4:48. Holy crap! It usually takes us 3 hours to get to Seattle from Portland. It took us at least a half an hour to park, get our bags, and check in, plus we even stopped for gas on the way, a 15 minute detour. That's 45 minutes wasted, so the travel time must've been about 2 hours! What the hell happened?

Of course, there was some excitement driving up there. I was nodding off, and suddenly, for some strange reason, my head told me to open my eyes. I opened them slowly, and I saw in the middle of our lane a plastic garbage can. What the hell?! We couldn't stop, and we couldn't merge into a different lane. There was only one choice: impact. BAM! We swerved, but only slightly. Wow! What idiot left that in the middle of the road?!

We went to uncle and auntie's house afterwards. We decided to go to this new place. It was a pizza place. It was that or Vietnamese. Well, I had Vietnamese a week ago, and I like pizza, so...

At the restaurant (it was really small), I ordered their pepperoni rolls and a small pizza for myself. I thought, yeah, the stuff is gonna be small. I can eat it, no problem.

That was before I had a stomach ache from eating so much. The rolls were huge! Plus, there were 10 of them! And the pizza was bigger than I expected! And the pepperoni was spicier than I thought! I only finished half of it, and I was full. Damn...Even though the portions were enormous, it was good food. The cheese was delicious, and the crust was perfect. Yum. I want to go back.

But without the rolls. Yeah, way to huge, and numerous for me...

On Sunday, after we checked out of the hotel at noon, we headed to their house again. We came for an early dinner, so we ate at 3:30. During the 3 and a half hours of waiting for the food to cook, the boys (including me) watched Georgetown's ass get kicked in the NCAA tournament (Uncle Jim was all over the place because he went to G, saying the would be swearing if we weren't here. He did it anyway. Emily learned a few new words.)

Before we left, I got some songs from their iTunes library, from Green Day, Linkin Park & Jay-Z, and Maroon 5. I got the American Idiot, Collision Course, Songs About Jane, and It Won't Be Soon Before Long albums. Plus a $25 gift card to Target. Nice.

We left at 4:30. Luckily, I had my iPod this time. No random garbage cans on the way back though. Phew.

Oh, and bad news: I'm not going to the Blazer game on Tuesday. My uncle won't buy the tickets. I wouldn't either. They're $139 seats left, and that's it. No way would he pay for that. And where the hell would I get that kind of money in 2 days? I'm not doing anything that involves work (since this is vacation after all), so that's that.

Well, that's it. Gotta go!

Spring Break!

Well, my uncle from Denver came in tonight. Yay! All of us (mom, dad, my sister, uncle, and me) are going to Seattle in a few hours until tomorrow. So, yeah. It should be fun.

Nothing new with her (from my last blog), though, which kinda sucks. Now I have to wait an entire week without seeing her. Oh, and if you want to know what I was feeling like yesterday, listen to "Wth_You."

Flying High In The Clouds...And Then Shot Down By A Machine Gun

That's how I feel right now.

At recess yesterday, I was on the swing and there was three open near me to my left. I noticed my crush and her friends running and shouting "Swings!" Her friends grabbed the 2 farthest away from me, leaving the one next to me open for her. She took the one next to me and my mind became overwhelmed with pleasant emotions

I felt like the happiest guy in the world, with her sitting next to me. I could see her facing towards her other friends and never looking my way, and I was doing the same thing. For something kinda silly, it gave my body the energy it needed to survive school for the rest of the day. I felr like someone could amputate both of my legs and I wouldn't feel a thing. Seriously, I'm was that happy.

That was yesterday, as I said before. THIS is today:

At lunch, two of my friends urged me to once again go talk to my crush. She was sitting with her friends, although she wasn't involved in any of their conversations. I said, "I'll do it, if you guys promise to never, ever ask me to do this again." They said, "OK."

I started walking towards her, but then I thought to myself, "Am I really going to do this?" I was about to turn back when one of my friends pushed me into the seat across from her.

"Uh, hey," I said, blushing. She simply nodded. We both looked away from each other, but then our eyes met again. I now know what it's like when they say 'It felt like we sat there for eternity, staring at each other,' because that's exactly what it felt like. Finally, my crush's friends broke the ice: they walked away. And she did too, saying, "Sorry."

I don't think I should've gone to her. It wasn't apparant to me at first, but then I realized that it was like she was breaking up with me, even though we never talked to each other before, had no previous contact, or anything.

Does anyone have any advice with girls or anything for my situation?

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Well, I should probably wear green today, but I might not, because the school doesn't allow pinching. Then again, does anyone actually follow the rules at school? So, yeah. I'm gonna wear green now. I just convinced myself.

Also, I have Taekwon-Do tonight. I'll probably get pinched because I'm not wearing green. Lucky green belts...

Well, have a fun day!

I Won!?

So, today, I had a Taekwon-Do tournament. There were 2 other people who were against me. We did our forms (hyungs), broke boards, and sparred (non-contact) in front of judges. The 2 other guys were the same level as me, but knew more stuff (and of course, were taller). I got 1st place in board breaking (360 jump spinning back kick-2 boards and a knifehand side strike-1 board), and somehow, and got second in hyungs and sparring. Somehow, I got grand champion. WTF?! Did the master not see the other guys' forms?! Did he not see their amazing board breaks?! Did he not see how they beat the crap out of me in sparring?! I deem this tournament unfair! But, I guess I'm satifsfied.

Well, I'm Screwed

Yes. I am very screwed. I got another NYM, in something I thought for sure I wouldn't get an NYM on: the science quiz. You want to know what I got? Hold on a second, and let me explain grades at my school.

You see, when you score a 100-90%, that's an A. 89-80% is a B, 79-70% is a C, and an NYM is below 69%.

OK. I got a 69%. 69%. 69%. 69%. Sorry for repeating that. I'm very shocked because I thought for sure that I'd get a B AT LEAST. Now I'm even more screwed, because I have another quiz today. And I don't get what it's about.

So, guess who's going to be upset again? My dad. Luckily, I have until Friday night (when he gets back from Utah WHERE HE BETTER NOT SEE A JAZZ GAME...never mind, they're away). That's when he'll check my grades, get pissed, and I'll never see a TV again until I'm 18. And I'm not 18.

Hope your yesterday was better than my yesterday.
