actually if you read the newer ps3 versions will get the upscales not the older ones.aerziel
In a blog from Wired news, they interviewed Phil Harrison, he had this to say about BC and old consoles. WiredNews: I have a first-run PS3 in the US, with the Emotion Engine chip, and I love playing PS2 games on it. Is that functionality going to be killed with a future firmware update? Are they going to switch all the PS3s over to software emulation? PH: You can't switch it off. WN: Are the American PlayStation 3s going to remove the EE/GS chip in future iterations? PH: I have no idea. So at least us early adopters have the option to switch it on and off at will, or so it seems. here is the link to the article http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/03/interview_sonys.html

Ouch... I hate how they seem to be into smoke and mirrors with Gold / Silver. You never really know where you stand....

So about a month ago I got a auto renewal reminder for Xbox live. As March 17th is my anual renewal date.

Since I havent used Live in about 6 months now, I decided I was going to cancel my subscription, and just live life as a lowly Silver member. Not an issue for me, as I rarely play games online. I used to be an online nut back in the Quake 2 days, but I find I get very little pleasure from it now. So, hence the cancellation.

So I log into the Xbox (back in Feb) check account management, Hmmm, no where to tell it to cancel my subscription. I cant even tell it to not auto renew. My options are Pay it all at once, or pay it monthly. Well this sucks. I check the M$ website, and find the only way to cancel is to call the toll free number. Grrr.

So I call them up, navigate the automated message center for 10 minutes, then get left on hold for about 20 more, before I talk to a fine young lad, who seems very put out that I am cancelling my subscription. He proceeds to ask my many questions about why I am quitting. I am thinking, none of your friggen business. I dont want the service, leave it at that... I told him he can cancel it ASAP, as I wont be using it between now and the renewal date anyway. He says that they will give me the last month free, and that it will not renew on March 17th. I even get a confirmation email from M$ stating such.

Well here we sit, the morning of the 17th and guess what..... F***** M$ went ahead and renewed my subscription anyway. So I guess now being a Gold member means I am locked in eternally to be a slave in the Hell that is Xbox Live.... UGH!!!!

Guess I will have to spend half my saturday getting this rectified.

So a word to the wise, if you are going to cancel your subscription, I suggest you actually change your credit card info or something within the Dashboard, then maybe they will get the hint when the transaction fails.

This rant cant even come close to showing you all how pissed I am right now......

[QUOTE="mightyboosh13"]This is a great way to weed out the Fanboys. Anybody who chooses a console over a night with the girl of your dreams is hugely sad.(No excuses)...

Not entirely. Depends on the person, they could be gay or 10 yrs old

When I got addicted to FF XI MMORPG it was regular fair for me to play for 16 hrs at a time. Longest stretch was for 27 hrs. Healthy? No. But it refelcted no lack of a life like most of you are gonna say.

The job I had was shift work, so many insomniac nights, and 7 days off in a row a month, and it is easy to get the hours clicking. In a 10 month stretch I ended up playing 2600 hours. Ya ouch....

But hey, how we spend out time is our business. In that time I met a gal, who is now my wife.

They need to spend less time writing articles with information sourced from their butt and maybe get us more news faster so we can actually use this site for more than the forums.emitsu97
AMEN I come to GS for the forums, got to IGN and Kotaku for the news, unfortunate....

Elebits was a rental at best. Single playthrough was about 6 - 7 hrs at best. If you and a friend have it and make your own level, it may last longer, but over all, pretty weak.

Sonic is not bad, but the controls are not nearly responsive enough.

Excite Truck, not sure, never played, but personally was not impressed enough with the reviews to warrent a purchase. And no online multiplayed was the clincher...

[QUOTE="cofn42"]After Peter Moore saw the Sony presentation about Home, he cancelled it..... j/kJDUB_x

LOL, yeah Sony really did knock it right out of the park, But Microsoft still showed off some great games. Mass Effect, Blue Dragon, Fable 2 anyone?

I agree, looking forward to BD and ME, but fable.... not sure after the dog thing. IT will eaither work great or fail miserably
