@Slade968 Again, it's Blockbuster, they only have a handful of stores left and that article didn't even mention what kind of pre-order numbers they actually had. For all we know, a lousy 12 pre-orders would break their previous record, but no matter how many it is, Blockbuster is such an insignificant player in the market that all of this is meaningless.
@Slade968 But it's Blockbuster, a video rental store. Who really buys their consoles from a video rental store? Call me when someone like WalMart or GameStop breaks a pre-order record, then it's news.
@Axile11 Since when does Blockbuster sell consoles? They are a video rental service. Probably wasn't too hard to break their "previous record" considering no normal person would even think to buy a console there.
I'm getting real sick of hearing "we'll provide more details later" from Microsoft. Screw later, there is no good reason to keep this stuff secret from your customers right now, unless you are frantically making last minute changes to what you now know everyone is going to hate. The gaming press (Gamespot included) isn't even pushing them on these things in the slightest. Ask the tough questions and demand answers, don't lob them softball questions and then thank them for the non-answers they give back. It's embarrassing to see how gaming "journalists" are just rolling over for this crap.
A generation ahead? I've got a PC I bought last year with higher specs than both these machines. Both consoles are roughly equal to a mid-range modern PC at best and that's nothing to be ashamed of, since that is leaps and bounds ahead of the previous console generation.
Only 5 percent? If that is accurate (doubt it) I think that number has much more to do with the current lack of backwards compatibility on consoles than consumer desire. We can't really play our old games on current systems, but that doesn't mean we don't want to.
@Simplythebest12 So as rumored, the actual hardware is nearly identical to the PS4, except the PS4 has significantly faster RAM (GDDR5). So, for all intents and purposes, it's going to be a battle of features, which MS seems to already be losing with all the features no one actually wanted.
