@TheGovenor Will it "breathe" faster during particularly intense gaming?

@Sydrum It's marketing 101. If their positions were reversed, MS would do the same exact thing. Any companies with competing products in any field would do this and have done this since the dawn of advertising.

@SDTalyor This is hardly copyright infringement. You can't copyright a gun; you can trademark it, but copyright does not even apply here.

@VegasDawg Our votes determine how the electorate votes, they aren't just "taken into consideration". It does vary from state to state, some states give all electoral votes to whoever won the popular vote, others divide the electorate votes along the lines of the popular vote, but it is always determined based on the popular vote. If you want to be specific, the US is a democratic republic, but that doesn't change the fact that it is still a democracy.

@kyphe Ah, I assumed we were both talking about the US, since this story was about a US library. Yep, here in the US, there are no laws about video games ratings at all. The entire system is voluntary and the vast majority of retailers follow the ESRB system as a matter of course, including libraries.

@kyphe No, they won't face legal action at all. Just like movie ratings, video game ratings are not legally binding AT ALL. Every attempt to pass a law that criminalizes or restricts in any way the sale or distribution of M rated games to minors has been shot down as unconstitutional. Most retailers and all libraries do have internal policies in place that prevent that and yes, someone could lose their job if they provide a minor with a game, but there is absolutely nothing illegal at all about doing it.

@rolla020980 Check your facts, they were multiple polls and they were nationwide polls, not a single 3 state poll. I never said I "liked" gun control, just that the majority of the country wants something to be done. I do want expanded background checks, I think it's idiotic that anyone, including criminals and madmen, can buy a gun online or at a gun show completely anonymously. Criminals will always find a way to get a gun, that's a given, but why must we make it so goddamn easy for them?

@kyphe It's not illegal at all, video game ratings are not legally binding. However, all libraries do require an ID proving you are over the age of 17 before you can rent an M rated game, but that is just library policy, not the law.

@xeoneex66 This is a democracy, if 86% say something should be done, then it should be done. You have some kind of problem with democracy? And if you are going to accuse anyone of being an imbecile, look at what you are posting yourself. Barely more than half the country voted for Obama, yet well more than three quarters of us want things like expanded background checks. That means at least half the people who didn't vote for Obama want this too. Maybe you should actually learn the facts about this whole situation before parroting NRA hardline like one of their sheeple.
