@Double_Wide There had to be tradeoffs. We wanted better games, devs wanted an easier time programming those better games, that meant a switch to x86 hardware which pretty much eliminated any possibility of backward compatibility. Plus, we gamers have already proven to Sony that we have no problem re-buying games we already own on a new system (HD remakes, PS2 and PS1 classics on PSN), so in a way, we didn't beg, but we did say "that's okay, we don't really need BC".
Why does the video game industry still listen to this guy? Has he ever been actually right in his entire lifetime? With the exception of his glaringly obvious predictions (the PS4 and NextBox will attract gamer attention, no shit Sherlock), everything else he says is utter BS.
@TheGovenor After the initial report hit, some people in the game development community who have worked with Orth in the past said this is nothing new. He's apparently giant d-bag in real life and has been fired because of it before. He had never done anything so public, but the tone deaf attitude he showed in those tweets was just Orth being himself.
The average age of gamers is 32-35 and games are made and marketed to that age group, not "young people". Get a clue about the subject you are railing against you dipshit!
@rgish Given the backlash, this was the perfect opportunity for MS to set the record straight instead of issuing a non-denial, but of course, MS doesn't do that. Dumbasses
@SkamArtist New Kevin Butler ad: Walks into a room with a PS4, pulls the Ethernet cable out of the console, fires up a game, then turns to the camera, puts on his sunglasses and says...
