the receipt is only proof of purchase date to mark the beginning of the warranty period. i dont see why sony couldnt go by a manufacture date or even the ps4s launch date because nobody had a retail model before then [except maybe reviewers but im sure the s/n of those units are already documented in sonys records] so if its broken within a year of those dates theres no legitimate reason they shouldnt honor the warranty without the receipt...but who knows these days
for me it would come down to exclusive games for the xbone. i mean if youre already sure youre keeping the ps4 and theres no xbone exclusives that youre into why bother with it? i know i wouldnt pay $500 just because i prefer the controller.
ive always liked forza so i kinda want an xbone but ill wait until its much cheaper in price since i have a ps4 unless xbox miraculously starts unloading awesome exclusives on us. then i might have to break down and get one
the "back to the drawing board" remark has me a little skeptical. they probably already have so much time and money wrapped up in this project that they cant afford to take a lot of care in finishing up and getting this game out. like rushing it out trying to use as little resources as possible being theyre behind schedule. its what i think happened with ghost recon future soldier...it was ok but it didnt come near my expectations.
games that i want usually come out few and far between so im usually done with one game before the next one i want comes out. but if there were two games i wanted both coming out at the same time id buy them both together
layoffs arent necessarily an indication of the successfulness [or lack thereof] of a company. sony/guerrilla/etc may have just hired extra temporary employees to help get things out by a deadline. in such a situation, once the product is finished theres no more need for such a surplus of employees hence the layoffs. theres no reason to let your imagination run wild and start speculating and making the assumption that "layoffs=failing business".
yes battery life is very short but like someone else said, after the update that allows dimming the lightbar hopefully battery life will be extended. either way id never feel like xboxs approach to powering controllers is better.
I still think we shouldn't have to pay for it and it should be included with the final game, $30 for a 5 hour long prologue is still too much.
if ground zeroes was actually 5hrs i think it wouldve been worth it but this campaign is supposed to be only 2hrs long [im not counting unnecessary easter egg hunts and multiple campaign runs as additional game length] so yeah, its still kind of a jip even at the reduced price. being so short and overpriced they should at least discount phantom pain for those who buy ground zeroes separately.
