Hello ps3 based gamespotters.

I have a little bit of a problem and i was wondering if any of you good people could offer some advice.

I know its a long shot but ...

I have, or should i say had, an original pal 60gig ps3. Fully back compatable and working like a doosy. I added a 400gig hdd (kept the old one just incase) and it still worked fine, since jan, this week it finally stopped working. All very sad but not totally unexpected.

The hdd removed and a replacement 60gig modal located im back on track to gaming fun tonight. But I didnt get the chance to save my saved files. Most importantly game saves.

Now I realise that the console needs you to format the hdd if you adding a new one to it. But is there any means to obtain the files from this old hdd or am i totally stuck.

Before you all ask, no i cant afford the ps + membership, so the saves are not in any clouds.

any advice welcome.

Its been very positive to see just how healthy and clean a lot of you like to be. Really does fly in the face of much of the myths that surround us as a community.

Id like to add, i just help exasabate that myth and am adding white russians to my list of food/beverages.

anyhow, I was wondering. I am someone who, despite not having a penny to knock together, has manage to get his hands on each of the modern consoles and a selection of older consoles.

So I went shopping today for the new sonic game, lame I know but I had fun playing it today so nerrrrr. Anyway, my girlfriend asked me to get it on ps3, because we don't have many ps3 games.

This lead me to thinking about why I but games for specific consoles and indirectly about, what console would I get rid of if i had to and most importantly why would i keep the other console/s.

So this is for those of you like me who own all 3 of the main home consoles. What ones would you keep and for what reasons?

Now I personally would have a hard time selling any as Ive got paid for content on all 3.

But I would Keep the ps3 for the quality of the system overall (helps that is blu-ray and the backwards compatible modal on ps1 and 2)

Yet saying that I would keep the xbox 360 for fighters, achievements and xbox live.

I suppose the wii is the only one that's hard to find a reason to keep, aside from the fact the exclusive games that are good, ARE REALLY F******G GOOD

So I would buckle in seconds and ask you to buy my cat or something instead. :/

Thanks for the comments. I liked how snake was able to be part of the binding. However, I need to print and test the cover I made. Just a little unsure whather the porportions turned out ok with the PS2 logo and the metal gear solid 3 logo.

I really like your covers so far. That Enslaved cover just reeks of awesomeness.

Alright, since you've inspired me to try this out, I attempted to make a cover for one of my favorite games: "The Suffering: Ties that Bind" for the Xbox. It was pretty fun to do and only took me like an hour by using a mixture of both Microsoft Paint and GIMP. Overall, I believe it turned out well, though I'm unsure about how I feel about the binding. I couldn't find a good "landscape" art or fan art that would work so, ended up using two different images and had the black binding there to help with the seperation.

This looks amazing. Actually what I had in mind when I made the "the boss" mgs3 cover. just had her in the field and not big boss. I like my cover still, but if you dont mind I might print this out for the subsistance edition...

ill come up with something for that tomorrow if you like also. Its cool to see the different ways people approach the games they are attempting to re cover.

Ive done some that are non landscape, ill try find and share them at some point. as for this post i have taken snaps of some rejected covers... rejected for different reasons.

sonic unleashed - (also actually like this a lot, as a symbol of the game specifically the warehog is the main image of the game.But people don't like him so i went safe choice, might still change back )

oh and the oringe tint on some of these is the camera taking the pictures , not the way the originals look.

So in an effort to get to know my fellow gamespotterz (yes i put a z there, deal with it) I want to find out something more about all of you. So they say the fastest way to a mans heart is through his stomach and all that.

I was wondering what snacks & drinks do you tend to have when you have a long game sesh and what is your guilty pleasure.

Also you might want to add where your from, mostly because these foods might be a regional thing and be odd in more then just choice to some people (especially if you like plop).

Just to be fair I tend to have a fetish for a nice thick slice Cheddar sandwich and cup of chocolate milk or hot chocolate. Mostly because i like the contrast of the pale of the cheese and the brown of the chocolate but also because sometimes it leaves a brown mark on the bread as i eat the sandwich.

Also if im feeling really classy I like to have a wine glass of coke while I play online. Just me. Oh and I like a nice pack of nic-nacks (rib and saucy or scampi and lemon)

so just wanted to share this. Its not been printed yet as my printer is out of ink (the one downside to attempting this stuff) but its the cover I will be using for enslaved.

So I had this thought on the walk home from work.

What games, that were totally credible ideas, would you like to see happen but you know they never will?

My first thought was an uncharted spin off game, maybe on vita or as dlc on psnetwork. Uncharted : Sully's (sullie's?? cant remember the spelling for his now, stupid me ) Big pay off.

It would take place In the past exclusively telling of a time before sully met Nathan and would have a much more classic adventure feel then even the main uncharteds do. You could even pop in a mini game where he womanises in bars.

Anything you'd like to see, I would love to see the ideas people have floating about in there.

(one rule though, no cross overs)
