He had nothing to live for. I mean, after seeing your family get killed, NYC and then the world die, killing your only friend because it got infected (Sam), and living alone for however long.
The books ending was soo much better and meaningful, the movie's was too cheesy and cliche for me to care much about.

You haven't read it? WELL GO READ IT! It's really short, and you'll finish it in like 1 or 2 days, but man is it amazing.
I am currently reading "All Quiet on the Western Front" and "Macbeth" so I have my hands full at the moment. But I'll be sure to check it out.

Why do I have a feeling that if this story is true the word "gangsta" was running through someones head or maybe said aloud .

A gansgter is a person from the early 1900's who dressed in a suit and worked for the mob. They used Tommy guns and wore bowler type hats (I don't know the exact meaning). They extort people and usually get a lot of money. The men in "The Godfather" were gangsters.
People who walk like apes, wear baggy pants/oversized shirts, caps sideways with an uncurved brim, talk like a retard and think they can fight are not gangsters.
