I would like to point out that there are two other playable female characters in Dragons Crown; the Amazon and the Elf. The Amazon is an impossibly tall, overly muscular blonde woman wearing a metal bikini. The Elf is a Ranger. She wears a cloak, full tunic (with shorts) and boots that go just above the knee. I think that the character designs in this game are bonkers. Hell, look at the Fighter! One of his shoulders is twice the size of his head. But the art style has it's own charm and you get a sense of each characters personality through it.
I'm not going to comment any further on the discussion in the podcast since all I wanted to do was point out that there are other playable characters in the game. Some of which are just as impossible as the Sorceress.
Yikes! There is a ton of info jammed into this article. Ok, let's break it down.
A) Subscription Xbox720 for $300.00
-Not a huge surprise. The subscription 360 that Microsoft released at their brick and mortar stores was a big success. Since that trial run worked in their limited stores it's no wonder they are moving forward with a general release. Also, Americans LOVE subsidized plans. Think about it, how consumers in the USA purchase a full priced cell phone? With the subsidized plan we pay less up front but end up pay way more in the long run.
B) Standard model for $500.00
-Not a big surprise but notice it's the 'standard model'. It wouldn't be a huge surprise to see a $599 model as well.
C) $99.00 'Stingray' 360
-The 360 is still selling like crazy. Put a fresh coat of paint on it with the 720's OS and continue to sell it. Face facts, the 360 is this generations PS2.
D) Always-Online requirement
-There are many security reasons what this would make sense but it is ultimately stupid. Ever other consumer product can still operate and play game without an internet connection. Why can't this. Also, something like 40% of the USA still doesn't have broadband penetration (at least 5 mbps down). That's tens of millions of Americans that can, in no way, play the 720. Microsoft is practically pushing those users to the PS4.
E) Announcement on May 21st.
-That's exactly three weeks before the start of E3 2013. Makes sense though with E3 and Build right around the corner.
F) Yumo
-Not surprised it got canned. What's the point of making a Roku or Boxee competitor
Vasto Lorde is a term used in the anime and manga called 'Bleach'. The Vasto Lorde (pronounced Vasto Lord-eh) are the humanoid evolution of creatures from limbo called Hollows. That red blast is a signature attack of a Vasto Lordes called a Cero (ser-oh).
The mod is the Vasto Lorde form of the main character from Bleach, Ichigo Kurosaki. It would take far to long to explain how he ended up like that so I suggest, if you are interested, check out the Bleach Wiki or just wikiepedia in general.
Ok, now that Anime Skyrim is out of the way, where are the Transformers Skyrim mods?
If Riccitiello didn't resign he most assuredly would have been fired at some point. The millions wasted on the floundering Stars Wars MMO, the poorly performing stock and now the utter destruction of trust in EA thanks to the Sim City debacle all occurred on his watch. That being said there is no quick fix for all the internal issues at EA and the next CEO will have to tackle them head on if the company is to regain its former glory.
EA took a beloved franchise, made extensive changes to the way it plays, then bumbled the launch...again. Even though this isn't the Sim City I wanted it's the Sim City I'm getting. And I'm eternally disappointed.
Caro, do you think that this might be a case of "if that subject is in there then the game won't sell"? The reason I ask this is because of the sheer sexual suppression that is in japan. By that I mean, in Japan, being LGBT was (and in some areas still is) almost criminal.
And by 'innovation' Sony really means "ways that will encourage consumers to buy the other products we make."
Now I will say that they are doing right by offering the concept of purchasing a game on PS3 and get it for the Vita for free. That is kind of innovating. Imagine if Nintendo did that!
So instead of focusing on cool games Sony wanted to focus on a peripheral for a peripheral that no one is buy or really developing for? I think they need to fire their PR department.
