@jeffrobin Was that the one where the player is a cockroach exploring through filth? Loved it!

@netter99 @theonlyreega I've already played GTA5 about 6 years ago. I don't need to play it again with airplanes. I want to play something new, something relevant to 2014. Watchdogs day 1!

Nice work Danny. When I first got into games I was in it for the fun of exploring big open worlds. The combat rush has always been less important. After a few years the worlds seem like remixes of the same ol' thing. I still play the big titles like Fallout, GTA, and Elder Scrolls on day one but I no longer feel the "need" to play every title that looks interesting. If something I pass on is that good and gamers continue to talk about it and rate it highly after a couple of years I'll download a copy. Portal/Portal II is an example of that.

I once used VR in some market research to show off different car prototypes: mostly interior styling, gauge layout and road visibility clicking through about 20 concepts. The respondents sat passively as the virtual vehicle drove around city and highway areas. It was kind of crude but we got a lot of great feedback without wasting time building one static mock-up. It was also fun watching people reach for things like brake pedals and steering wheels that weren't really there. I've been a fan ever since and have dreamed of one day playing open world games in VR.

@nyran125tk Nice rant! I'd add that PC fanboys can build their own custom desktop to their own specs avoiding branding and adware b$. They can also upgrade separate components at will taking advantage of price drops. By slowing the technical innovation in games, consoles have actually made PC's last longer between rigs. PC games are cheap as dirt if you only buy during sales making the total cost of ownership a fraction of consoles.

@DarthLod @cratecruncher Money? The trade-in value of a somewhat recently released used game? The stuff you exchange for food?

@DarthLod Yea, I used to think that way too. (See my comment above.) Unless you like to replay your games frequently you're more likely to lose everything by hanging on to them. A 25% trade recovery is far better than 0%!
