You know just awhile ago i was just surfing the web and came across this article http://www.polygon.com/2013/12/18/5223200/killer-instinct-tournament-derailed-by-xbox-one-drm-check. click on it and check it out then come back to this article... Now this is ridiculous. But hey it is Microsoft is it not. Those filthy rich liars. That right there is whats called DRM. You know that thing that was revoked from the Xbox One before launch. Now granted it was a "bug" according to Microsoft and wasn't suppose to happen but still, Microsoft should've ran more test before they launched by having testers trying to get on a digital game while not being connected to make sure they truly got rid of DRM. Shame on you Microsoft shame on you. And i know this is off topic but while you're reading i want to reach out to an isolated audience. For all you guys who guys reading this who bought an Xbox One and you bought it because Xbox one was better. WHY? Why did you buy it? Where in your mind did it say "Xbox One". In what way is it better. I mean nothing of it is better. Its appearance sucks. The internal components are noticeably worse. I mean even playstation eye is better than the kinect. AND ITS MORE EXPENSIVE. $100 more expensive. I'm sorry but for all you who bought an Xbone are not intelligent. I know I'm going to receive some hate in the comments and while you're hating on me please explain how the Xbone is better and please don't say something like "Well can you watch tv on the PS4 or can you snap things to the left and right of the screen." Now on the tv part get your lazy ass up and pick up that Comcast remote and switch it to Tv. And the snapping thing. I know darn well you rarely use it and it is not a huge feature of the Xbone.

What has gotten into the minds of devs. All they release now is competitive shooters. Then when Devs do decide to release a game thats a little different and tries to reach between competitive, casual, hardcore, and all the above they fail. Free roam games are the only non competitive game out there and a game you can just sit down and have fun. And Assassins Creed is getting boring and repetitive and I sold my xbox 360 for a ps4 so i cant play gta 5 (damn you Rockstar.) The only game im really looking forward to this 2014 season is Watch_Dogs. It's new refreshing and really is its own game and takes very few ideas from other games. But other than that (and Dying Light it looks pretty good too) if you really look at the lineup and look at the trailers of games the only games that stick out (besides Watch_Dogs and Dying Light) are 1st/3rd person competitive shooters. I mean i am just so excited for Watch_Dogs and will probably pick up Dying Light with it but besides that i don't see me picking up many other games (i'll probably grab thief too if i have the money.) And all the competitive first person shooters lined-up for 2014 just doesn't soothe my taste buds for gaming. Lucky for me i am getting a moderate gaming laptop for $600 so i can get games like the total war series and survival games like minecraft and dont starve (yes i know dont starve is coming to ps4 very soon) and just so i can have a broader range of games to chose from. What do you guys think about, (especially console players because you have nowhere else to turn you're stuck with what AAA titles come out) all these competitive shooters coming out is it too much for you? Are you going to buy them all? or are you like me and getting a cheap alternative like a low-med end gaming rig. Let me know down below.

Even a Pokemon game is said to have the reading level of coursework for a senior in high school.

Can I get a link to this? Because if there isn't one, I'm very inclined to believe that this is a ridiculous statement, and if it's true, then I'm inclined to believe that the education system truly is failing. Pokemon is not the same level of reading as Dostoyevsky, Tolstoy, Joyce, Heller, David Foster Wallace or any of the other authors I read during my senior year of high school.

I am i serious gamer kid that's 13 and loves to play video games and takes it very seriously and got ps4 on launch with my own money (yes i do sit on them and play them ALL DAY!) And im going to college to be a creative director. But my mom hates it and calls me lazy and i need to do something with my life (i do football and wrestling and im pretty decent at both). And my grades are all A's and im called Sheldon at school (apparently because im crazy smart and look kinda like him.) I mean video games aren't rotting my brain i take no effect from that and im not fat i weigh 110 pounds (boniest kid at my school). But about every month there will be a point where my mom just goes off on me for how much i play. she will yell at me and we'll argue and ill say its 2013 and things have changed and she'll say when i was a kid i was always outside and this and that. And when she asks me to do something i almost always do it and i consider myself a nice person. So my question is next time me and my mom argue about video games (and if it goes by schedule it will be in the upcoming week) how can i convince her video games arent bad. and i need a really really really really really good statement about how they're not bad because my mom is really really really really hard to convince.

May I ask what games you play? How diverse is your collection and what do you enjoy playing the most?

There are some more interesting thought provoking experiences out there that might get your parents to ease up on your hobby a bit. I just finished Dear Esther; it's basically just exposition, but there are some pretty neat concepts and it only takes an hour to finish. I liked the Chemistry/Biology themes and symbolism that was added to the story.

I would advise to not spend every waking moment playing just games, but to balance it with other activities, I know you do sports and are a straight A student, but read more books and watch more movies if you don't already. Broaden all horizons.

umm hello its called school. i maintain a social life there. and i dont have long until i need to dedicate my self to a career. i have an IQ of 227 and know much about how the world works. "you may have good grades now, but the older you get, the harder your schoolwork will become." yeah well im pretty sure the older you get the smarter you get so the hardness of the work levels out. and like i said im not fat i might not be an all star athlete but im not fat and i dont over eat.and if you actually all my post i said i have a social life and i play 2 sports. so go take your dumbass somewhere else and stop wasting every bodies time

You do actually have quite a while until you dedicate yourself to a career, and even then careers change over time. I remember going into highschool I wanted to be an engineer (I still could, my grades were on par). I settled on the Biology field for my major in college, thinking about being a doctor, then I thought maybe I'd just be a researcher, or a teacher, right now I'm thinking of being a pharmacist. School work does get a little harder, but if you got a good head on you and know how to partition your time, then you'll be fine. Everybody tends to overstate the amount of work in college courses.

Thoughts and ideas change over time they're never static, but it's good to have some goal in the future.

oh boy my gaming collection is huge. When i owned my xbox 360 (i sold it to afford a ps4) i owned games from halo wars to gta 5. i owned some of the COD series never got much into though. I had BF3. Owned most of the Assassins creed franchise. i owned gta 5 and 4. owned civilization revolution. sims 3. and a lot of other types of shooters and a couple other free roam games

@ReddestSkies:

I really do think console gaming is doing great (this is coming from a person who does own only a ps4 but you know...) the sales are off the charts and sony is making money rain. Now yes they are only making $19 per console but they're making a killing off of killzone knack and just selling the dualshock 4 controllers. I don't see why pc elitist pc is the only way to go for gaming. yes you do get more graphics, but in todays economy not that many people have enough money to buy $1000+ pc to max out games. consoles are great alternatives to pc gaming for more casual players and for the more poor-middle class people. I mean the graphics on both ps4 and xbone are doing quite well. And I know a lot of people are complaining about only some games not running 1080p, but that's because devs who created the launch games truly didn't have enough time to utilize the full hardware of both consoles. Later games coming out like Dying light and watch dogs will be running at 1080p 60fps on ps4 (probably xbone too but cant guarantee it). and an 8-core jaguar processor will last for decades so we know that's up-to-date. but you know who knows if or when consoles will end.

- To sit and play games all day is unhealthy, I used to do the same thing when I was your age. When I discovered other hobbies such as playing sports, I started to play games in moderation, this made both my school and social life better, and I also started to enjoy the games I played more.

- You shouldn't have a one track mind and make career plans at 13. With all due respect, you still have no idea about how the world works.

- You may have good grades now, but the older you get, the harder your schoolwork will become, and the more time you need to dedicate to it. If in a couple of years time you still sit and play games all day, those good grades will begin to fall fast.

- If I were you, I'd listen to your mum. The reason she's having a go at you is because you spend too much time gaming, and she's concerned not only about your health, but also your social life. If you want to convince her its okay to play video games, you need to find other hobbies and show you don't just play games all the time.

- In a few years time when you need to find a job and you if get your own place you'll realise just how right your parents were. While you may find video games fun, something tells me you'll get a huge wake-up call in a couple of years if you don't do something about your gaming habits, as reading your post it seems like you're obsessed. People may think I'm being harsh here, but that's what I think personally.
