Has anyone else noticed this?  Besides having the usual kind of threads, I had two of what might be the most involving discussions I've ever had on the internet on these message boards today.  Give yourselves a pat on the back, OT crew.

[QUOTE="Elraptor"]Wait . . . genius, God, and pot? Those are all related . . . how, exactly?luke1889
The guy who invented God was not a genius, but was in fact on pot?

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but Ralphie Mae did a funny stand-up bit about how Jesus was a stoner.   Lives with 12 guys with no visible means of support, carpenter, etc.

I've had some ecstacy that was supposedly cut with coke, which I highly doubt.  I would never touch cocaine under any other circumstance.

Either A) I don't get depressed, or B) Ecstacy.

I should add that Dasc00 also brings up a good point.  Even if you do accept the depressing truth of it all, you still don't give up the instinct to survive.

nightshade85 has said something sigworthy, folks.  And I admire Dasc00's persistence.  however, if there is one thing that is true in this world, it is that Skeptics always win (the school of thought, not conspiracy theorists).  I'd advise you guys to avoid thinking too deeply on this, it can make you quite depressed and misanthropic.  I'm a solipsist, but I just tend to ignore the truths it forces upon me.

I consider both love and lust to be a chemical addiction.

Are you talking about the "soul"?
Donkey_Puncher

No...love is not tangible....it's not a thing...it's a feeling/emotion.

Whis is the result of chemical interactions in the brain. Everything in your body, including your thoughts and actions require a physical medium to generate them.

That's assuming that we actually have bodies.  (Note: not saying we don't have them, but it's yet another thing in the realm of completely acceptable possibilities).

[QUOTE="xXBuffJeffXx"][QUOTE="albroc"][QUOTE="SolidSnake35"]I'll never understand or accept why people would want to use it, like any other drug.albroc
Because you're boring.

WOW, great logic. Everybody who doesn't use drugs is boring?

Yes, but only by coincidence, not because they don't use drugs. Usually, boring people tend to not use drugs and fun people often use drugs.

Although SolidSnake probably is boring, that statement is still very generalized.  There are plenty of fun people who don't use drugs.  Agreed, they may be hard to find, but they're definitely out there.  You're making it sound like I'm talking about an extinct/endangered species.

No it doesn't

The basic thing that I am arguing, is that something requires some sort of evidence for it to be considered true. Regardless of the comparison, it does not take away from the fundamental statement.

The point remains.
LJS9502_basic

I suggest you take a logic course if you further your education. Logic is a math. It follows rules. You didn't have any logical conclusion to your initial post nor where your statements able to be tied together.

And as an aside.....love is something that can exist and yet...have no evidence to prove it's existence. Just something to think about.

So is math.  There are no actual triangles or squares or anything in the physical world, but we rely on it all the time.  It is possible that we have a completely incorrect system of numbers as well.  More to think about...
