[QUOTE="RavenLoud"] Hum...
So you didn't play that far...
...yet you somehow make statements that the only way to beat this game is to bang your head against the wall and die before it finally works...because there is nothing else to do in this game other than dying. Don't you think it's a pretty vague and pretentious statement?
You base your hatred of the game on lack of a online system the way you want, because you made an image of this game that it's so hard that it's not worth it to play it alone (not quite as hardcore as you think really, most Souls fans will tell you that the difficulty is exaggerated).
If I were you, I would stop making assumptions about the game or its fanbase and just goddamn play it, it would be childish otherwise. This entitlement thing with co-op as justification seems a bit weak when going to labeling the game as "masochistic garbage".
Dark souls is downright amazing IMO but I can see why people are cowards for not liking that glorious masterpiece for real gamerz. BTW I didn't play far into it.
(That was a parody statement. I do not think like this and do not like people who do so.)

All the reviews I read have told me the game is extremely difficult and requires a ton of trial an error. A friend I have that owned Demon Souls (not dark souls though) told me his experience was just trial and error until he finally won. He got sick of the game pretty fast. Many people that played the game on the forums also have stated the same opinion. WHy should I not believe them? I have no desire to play an extremely difficult game and be frustrated with it. Especially when it is designed not to be fun. I had someone tell me that the justification behind the god awful coop in this game is that the developers wanted it to be harder so you cant "blast through" the game with your friends. Are you kidding me? How is it in any way fun to play the game with random people and look at bloody trails all day than solve the games challenges with your friends? You know the main purpose of a game is to be fun right? Trial and error is not fun and I'm afraid your opinion doesn't beat the opinions of the many people that told me the game is nothing more than a frustrating trial and error experience.
I guarantee you that the game would have sold far better if they had created a proper coop system and actually designed the game to be fun instead of always putting difficulty first. As long as they continue to do that and maintain their trash coop ill continue ignoring their games.
all of it, completely WRONG.
I respect your opinion and I can see where you got it, but it's not like you can just label a game not fun.
I've never had this much fun in my life, just yesterday, I used a spell called the chameleon spell which turns you into a tree in darkroot forest, I then invaded someone and just stood around, watching the invaded walking right past me. This sort of thing defines the pvp in dark souls, outsmart the smartest and you shall proof triumphant.
As for the PVE, it's not that hard, I don't understand where people get that idea, I've died more times in Uncharted games than in this, the only difference is that the checkpoints are more distant.
I can also safely say that anyone who beats this game can tell you, that they had fun. :)
Wrong. Finished it and it's the most overrated game since RDR. I'm not one of those people who likes to moan about reviews based on hype, but i can't help but feel that way when it comes to Dark Souls. Bland, dated, boring visuals. Basic and repetitive combat, poor level design, poor animation, no story or character or charm at all. The game actually feels like it's 10 years out of date to me and is worth no more than a 6 and is a poorly designed game hidden by it's silly difficult discussion that IMO totally misses the point of gaming. In fact, i'd prob say it's my most overrated game of all time.
