@sherrypizza I certainly have to agree with you bro, from the alluring, cinematic story with all of its next-gen boasting and flair to the varied and fun side missions to the engaging story missions that are compelling, freeform, and distinct the game is a pleasure and delight to play! Certainly up there as one of my favorites!
One of the things i vehemently disagree with Mark Walton (the reviewer) is when we said, "The benefit of Unity's exclusivity to the latest generation of consoles isn't immediately obvious, particularly if you're focused on face-value aesthetics, which look only slightly more impressive here than they did in Black Flag." I mean honestly, I feel dude must've been a little intoxicated or high before writing this review. The game looks vastly improved and better from previous iterations of the franchise. Plus they used a lot awesome camera effects that can only be accomplished on next-gen such as blur, depth of field, increased draw distance and other neat tricks. Overall it's has a strong filmic and cinematic flair that the last-gen couldn't hope to capture.
Don't take his word when he's talking about the graphics. It's a HUGE leap from Black Flag. Simply because of the fact you see hundreds, if not, thousands of people on the street at one time while seeing them from a long distance. Black Flag looks a game made for PS3 and 360 with improved textures running on a high resolution for its current gen counterparts. The game looks terrific and is way better than the score he's giving. There many side missions which feels polished and deep, plus the story pulls you in like you're watching a Hollywood film, and the combat is deep and thrilling where each battle feels rewarding and satisfying due to a stronger difficulty.
But yeah, don't write this off. He seems like an editor who was tasked to write a review for a game he wasn't that much interested in. The graphics are way better than he's portraying, the story is much more appealing than he's giving it credit for, but plus there are a ton of interesting and alluring things to do that reels you in and keeps you playing (mind you I'm already near the end of the game). Give this one a shot, digging this a bit more than Black Flag. You won't be disappointed!
Anyone looking for someone to play with on PS4 just add my guy Psn: TheTrojanDucks. He will be leading our PS4 division for now.

@GamezMk @RyogaRod Well bro you're not the only one with an opinion and let's not try to have it topple and monopolize everyone else's. I agree with my dude @RyogaRod . I think they've made significant improvements and yeah I know its a PS4 built because one of the devs commented on this via Twitter. I don't think they would reverse the visuals or diminish it in anyway. Plus what we've seen at E3 was primarily night time footage. This is mainly during the day so it's kind of hard to compare that anyway. We never seen the PC footage during the day. I bet it looks a lot like this. Either way I'm sure both platforms will look very equal and people would barely notice the difference.
This is a new generation of consoles (referring to the PS4 and XONE). Why in the world would it be terribly inferior to current high-end PCs. They just got started. Man, give these consoles a break. They have a long life ahead of them. They barely scratched the surface. And what we're seeing from the guys over at Rocksteady looks pretty impressive enough and that's primarily a next-gen title. Trust me guys, it will only look better from here... :-)
I certainly categorically, wholly, unequivocally disagree with this review score. In no way does the 4.4 reflect in any manner of how good the game is. I'm a 26 year old man who don't carry around immature or silly opinions about games. I've been loving and enjoying video games for the majority of my life all the way from Sega Genesis to now the Xbox One. It's a very rich, entertaining, and cinematic action adventure game. Would I give it a 9? I wouldn't go that far but considering it as a launch title that the supposed to display the system's next-gen capabilities while being a fun experience I would certainly give it between a 7-8. I'm up to chapter 5 (about mid-way through the game) and so far I have not thought the game was repetitive. In fact, there were multiple moments where I wanted more sword fighting and opponents to practice the executions on! I don't agree with them. If you're want a game that can make you feel like Russell Crowe from Gladiator while delivering impressive and awesome blows to various enemies in a very cool fashion, this is the game for you. It's DEFINITELY NOT a bad game in any way. I highly recommend it. If you're expecting anything more than solid launch title from this game then you may be disappointed but if you want something that will showcase the power of this console with a solid story and great gameplay then you'll enjoy it. Don't believe the hype!
@super600 @dabomb790 But at the end of the day we can't expect an unbiased comment from you because you're associated with the site which means anything you say or think must run in parallel with the views, feelings, and opinions of Gamespot. It's that simple. Also, I agree with some of the points Carolyn made but I do think she was being unfairly harsh and critiquing the game hard by giving it a 6 as oppose to even a 7 or 8. I've played it and definitely don't think it deserves that score. It gives me people the wrong impression and discourage them from buying the game, so what she or any editor says here matters and it matters a lot.
@super600 Of course you'll say that because you work for the site. Why in the world would you say anything that contradicts or is not in harmony with what Carolyn said. That's only expected.
@FretsOfDeath Gamespot likes to go against the grain. Their trying to make a statement, so when they actually give a game an 10 they want everyone to stop and pay attention as if their some gods of giving review of games. Its ridiculous.
@SKaREO @SKaREO Totally agree. The game is super awesome. I think this is the most fun I've had since the apex of the series', Chaos Theory. There are so many different routes to take in terms of action and stealth. You have a lot to choose from in each mission. I'll certainly give this game no lower than a 9.0. Certainly one of the highlights of the franchise. Very awesome.
