The console versions (specifically the PS3) looks very identical to the PC, despite the latter being superior. There are no strong, major differences present.
I'm so stunned that Assassin's Creed 3 was not nominated; forget about winning the award but not even a consideration. That's ridiculous. It's undoubtedly and unquestionably at the very, VERY least one of the top 10 games regardless if it's a top 5 game or not. I mean, seriously guys? AC3 could not even get inside the top 10 list. That's so appalling. The only real legitimate and strong gripe about the game that can be solidified is the various amount of bugs and glitches but did that stop a game like Skyrim (which was very similar in technical defects) from being considered as a nominee? Nope. I don't get this and this is ridiculous. This is very silly and I take their whole list as a mockery. Sorry GameSpot but this year your list is legitimately a joke, and that's without question.
It's about time we see a different looking Hitman. I was getting tired of looking at the same ol' balled head. Sorry. But his appearance was getting to repetitive, redudant, and tiring. He looks too plain and general. I like protagonists or anti-hero that has a more of a unique look. It seems like they're bringing that with this dude. Can't wait to see more!
I'm sorry but this is some of the most B.S. that I've ever read. He has to be kidding me. It's funny how he feels this way when the super-duper guys over at Rockstar believe that there is still a lot of power left in these machines. For starters they're making a GTA that's the size of all of their previous open-worlds combined along with highly strong visuals, plus based on the description they gave Michael's house (one of the main protagonist) and the FIB capture and retrieve mission, it appears that one can seamlessly enter and exit buildings! I mean seriously. What this guy he's saying is ridiculous. It's clear that Rockstar is still pushing the consoles to their utmost limits and they haven't even had one negative comment to say about them. Here's what Dan Houser had to say in a recent interview with IGN regarding the performance of current-gen consoles, "Some other people talk about the limitations of the [current] hardware. We don't feel there are that many limitations. We feel we can do some very impressive stuff and do it for a large audience...we could say everything we wanted to say and do everything we wanted to do on these machines. We didn't sit there saying, "We'd like to do this in the game, but we can't." There's plenty of power in these machines." And this is coming from a man that is creating a game that is MILES upon MILES more ambitious than Hitman: Absolution.
@SythisTaru @TheOnlyConan Apparently I'm dealing with someone else who must've gotten out of rehab and relapsed. Bro, you can't seriously tell me this game looks worst than GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption while looking at me with a straight face. That is absolutely false from a pure objective point-of-view. The lighting is better, the shadows are more deeper and darker, while adding an overall more realistic look to everything that's contained in the game. Check out the light glare on Rockstar's version of the Apple Computer as it slowly pans, also peep the realism on Franklin's face as they show him and his pal turning their heads to see the location of the car their trying to repossess or steal based on Michael's directions. The game is a dramatic overhaul on virtually everything they offered in GTA IV. The tech is new, even Leslie Benzies, head of Rockstar North said they specifically updated and improved the engine for this game. I'm sure he wouldn't blatantly lie about something like that anywhere, especially on a major gaming news site. Consequently the engine has to be better and stronger than it was in the past, in terms of doing things that it couldn't do before. And when you think about it based on what Benzies said then it's kind of like what Ubisoft did with Anvil Next for the Assassin's Creed games. Stop hating bro. The game looks better and a lot more realistic. Now let's move on and continue to enjoy the game. :-)
@brownyyy absolutely agree with you. I hope they don't do anything like that either. But based on what they demonstrated in this trailer that seems to possibly be the case. If you noticed there was only ONE guy doing the real crazy stuff: driving a van out a plane then parachuting, jumping off of a freight train that crashes into another one, indiscriminately and randomly burning houses. There was only one guy I saw responsible for all those events and his name is Trevor. I think they may be going in the direction of having the crazy character doing all the crazy stuff while having the more mentally stable characters staying within the socially acceptable parameters of the world. I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happens.
@TheOnlyConan You must be on drugs, in fact worst, you must be a PC fanboy because the GTA IV mod does not and I mean NOT look better than that. I don't understand why you PC guys always have to make the case that the PC is superior. We know that the hardware of the PCs will always have an advantage over the console because they can be augmented, updated, and improved a lot faster and sooner than console manufacturers releasing a more power version of their current machine. However, I can't concede and say that the PC mod of IV looks better because that's simply not true. I mean with all the effects, detail on the character faces, and the advance facial motion capture combines to create a much more stronger and enhance iteration of what Rockstar's RAGE engine is capable of. The graphics are beast even on these 7 year consoles. One can be fooled that this is running on next-gen so the fact that they're even able to pull all of this off on the 360 and PS3 is absolutely stunning and leave me at a lost for words. Incredible.
I don't believe he's using the PC version. When they show him bringing up the HUD for the optional weapon attachments in-game it shows the face buttons on the Xbox 360. The game actually looks great on consoles.
Am I the only one who feels they should've implemented some hand-to-hand combat in the game or something more exciting. It seems as though they're taking the basic concepts and mechanics from Conviction and are enhancing them and that's it. There doesn't really appear to be anything new about this version besides the graphics looking a bit more polished and pretty. I thought they were going to inject some different combat options in the game. I'm on the fence with this one.
@pfizer77 Well I gotta tell you, the name of this game is Sleeping Dogs; not Batman Arkham Asylum or otherwise. Yes, the game borrows a similar fighting mechanic that was inspired from that game but its different. This is not Batman Arkham City with a new coat of paint. The game pushes this concept of you being a very adept martial artist with just his fits and feet to rely on when engaged in melee combat. Batman on the other hand has a range of tools and utilities at his disposal to go against enemies. Therefore, if they're depicting the main character to be such a person that relies so heavy on the Martial Arts it would make sense if they added more depth to his defensive capabilities than to just counter. They really only give you one option in dealing out defense in the game which is sad. It would've been adequate if they even added a dodging component but to just have one action for defense (countering) is pretty sad and disappointing IMO.
