I'm still very new to linux based OS, but I really like it a lot. I'm trying to broaden my horizons for what the best linux OS is for me. Does anyone have any suggestions, or should I just stick with Ubuntu 10.10?

well trying to even run the driver install wizard. every time i click on run. i get an error code. also when i try to make the res right for my screen it doesnt go up to or pass 1440x900.
i do admit i am new to Linux. ill like to learn it more so i can use it as a last resort. to save files or something from my windows C drive. like i did the other day
i think the error was something like can not run type of program or something
I can't figure out how to manually change the resolution either, if anyone knows it'd be helpful to know :DI feel the same the same way as you, but I like linux for running things like internet and word processing. Something about it just makes me like it more. The limitations on ubuntu are another drawback for me, but I'd like to hear everyones input on this!
What is everyones thoughts on Windows 7 vs. Ubuntu 10.10. What does each one do better than the other? Is one faster than the other? Discuss.
Ok, after setting a WPA2 password and moving directly next to the router I'm still having the problem :( The good news is the yellow triangle went away.
My 465 is running well, I don't use the computer it's in a whole lot any more, but it's lasted without any problems. It's a solid card. If I were you I'd go read reviews on newegg :D
IpV6 is a new internet protocol that is currently starting to be adopted. ( the ip addressing in that is soooo long) There is no reason it should be functioining now since it isn't big yet. You should be receiving more bytes then sending if your just a client. So thats normal. I dont see anything bad there. Its probably either your ISP sucks, you need to set up your router better because somethings wrong. Your on cable you say? Are there many ppl who share the same line with you? Thats the thing with cable everyone in a certain area shares the same bandwidth. Did you change anything else recently?KLONE360
Thanks for the quick reply. I am on cable with cox internet. I assure you though, that this time it has to do with the wireless. I can download a movie with speeds of 4 mb/s when wired up, and up until I arrived home, the wireless was functioning properly. The problem is the random high latency spikes that don't occur when wired up. I've been playing wireless on my laptop for over 2 years now without many problems. In the pictured I provided above, what does the yellow exclamation point above my wireless signal mean?
