Going to pre-order Halo: Reach tomorrow!

It's just 35 days until Halo: Reach arrives and I am so excited! The game just looks so awesome and dare I say it, the best Halo since Combat Evolved. Haven't seen much of the campaign, due to the fact I am avoiding most videos about it to get the most freshest, spoiler-free experience as I can. There's also the amazing Halo multiplayer, which is so much better than CoD. Every Halo game is just so complete, and fair. Fair maps, fair weapon placement, fair everything. That is why I've logged over 3,500 games of Halo 3. There's also Forge and the mind-bending Forge World, Theatre (which I see will be in Call of Duty: Black Ops) and also Firefight 2.0! And as you can tell from the title, tomorrow, I will be going down to my local Gamestation to pre-order it! This is because the new college I am going to in September is right next to my local game store, so I'll be able to pick it up on my way to college, at dinner or on my way home.

I've also made the decision NOT to get a new Xbox 360 until at least Christmas. This is because I will have to spend all of my money and then Halo: Reach will be the only game i get before Christmas. Because of this decision I have taken, I will be able to get another game. Most likely F1 2010, but games like Fallout: New Vegas, Mafia II, FIFA 11 and Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood will have to wait until Christmas.

I also saw the CoD: Black Ops multiplayer trailer reveal thing. Sucks. Looks exactly the same as MW2 and why would you carry a crossbow around in war? That's all I really have to say on Black Ops.

Basically, until Reach arrives I'm just squeezing all my games for all the gameplay I can get out of them. I'm finishing stuff off and trying to get them done before all the new games arrive. My main goal at the moment is finishing off getting 100% completion on Red Dead Redemption. The only thing I need to do is to get Rank 10 on Master Hunter and another one (which I can't remember the name of) but yeah, close to getting 100% on an awesome game. The other thing I want to do is to get Driver Level 50 on Forza Motorsport 3, which will just involve playing online which will be fun.

Till Next Time Guys.

My Most Wanted Games!

I haven't really been blogging about gaming recently, mostly because the usual summer lull of games. Come September I will be back to gaming regularly. Anyways, there's a lot of amazing games coming out and here's the ones I'm most excited about:

#1: Halo: Reach

halo: reach

As most of you will probably know, I am a HUGE Halo/Bungie fanboy! I've loved every single Halo games that Bungie has churned out and Reach looks like that trend will be continuing. With an epic campaign, the amazing multiplayer, all the fun of custom games, Forge mode, theatre and Firefight 2.0 (which was brilliant in ODST) Reach is packing so much and considering I have played over 3,500 games of Halo 3 and am still playing nearly 3 years after release, it will be a long time before I stop playing Reach. If you have a 360, get this!

#2: F1 2010

F1 2010

Also, close friends of mine will know I am a huge Formula 1 fan. Developers Codemasters have a great track record with racing games with GRID, Colin McRae DIRT etc. so it definately looks promising. The game looks stunning with changing weather, details of the track the physics of the cars and the real immersion of being a Formula 1 driver.

3: Mafia II

mafia 2

Some people say it's a copycat of GTA IV, but I think Mafia II looks like an amazing story of a 1940's Mafia gangster. Fair play, there is a lot of similarities to GTA IV, but what's wrong with that? Simply can't wait to play this!

#4: Gears of War 3

Gears 3

Gears 3 doesn't come out till April 2011 and there hasn't been much information released yet (other than a tiny co-op clip at E3) therefore Gears 3 is down in fourth. However, Gears 1 and 2 were both one of the finest shooters to grace consoles with the revolutionary cover system, awesome graphics and of course, the CHAINSAW! Gears 3 promises the finale between the Human Race and the Locust and hopefully improvements to the multiplayer (which I admit, was broken in Gears 2).

Other games I've got my eye on:

Fallout: New Vegas

FIFA 11

Call of Duty: Black Ops

Medal of Honor

Oh, I also picked up a new game. Formula 2009 for the Wii. £19 from HMV. Great deal. I'll have a score up soon.

Premier League season starts next weekend!

Till next time guys.

Tropic Thunder & Up!

I haven't been doing much gaming recently... mostly because my 360 is completely annoying me like hell! I put a game in the disc drive and it will come up 'Play DVD'. IT'S NOT AN EFFING DVD! I have to resort to opening and closing my disc tray until it decides the load the game. It is so annoying and I really need it sorting so I'm thinking of getting the new slim Xbox 360. I really need it before all the big games like Mafia II, F1 2010 and Halo: Reach arrive. So any donations are welcome. :) And before you say, no, I am not getting a PS3.

So basically I have been watching films. I did a review on Toy Story 3, which I watched last week and was awesome. I recently got two new films and they are also, both awesome.

Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder

The film is directed by Ben Stiller, who is a complete legend, so that's win already. He also stars in the film as a actor on a set filming a big Vietnam war film with other heavyweight such as Robert Downey JR and Jack Black. Eventually, the director drops the actors into the forest and Stiller and Co. run into the quite distrurbing locals. However, they still believe it is all part of the film, providing some hilarious moments. The film is full of absolutely stomach muscle hurting hilarity. All the actors, play the role of these actors, amazingly.

Score: 9/10

Up

up

Up is created by the awesome Disney studio that is Pixar. So right from the beginning, your expectations are high. It follows the story of an man named Carl. After his wife dies, his embarks on his late wife's dream to journey to Paradise Falls. It has all the elements of a great Pixar film: adventure, sadness and laughter. All characters are voiced fantastically and young or old, you can't help but love this great film.

Score: 9/10

Till next time guys.

Toy Story 3= PERFECTION!

So, to begin with. Toy Story WAS my childhood. I was completely in love with the series since my 3 year old eyes caught sight of it. And last Friday, I went to watch the third installment in this great series expecting great things, and those expectations got smashed.

Toy Story 3

The film shows a 17 year old Andy preparing to go to college and the lovable toys of his room embark on another amazing adventure. The film contains some truly hilarious moments that are well written and don't feel cheap at all. For example, Spanish Buzz. Also, Toy Story 3 contains some really, really sad moments. One of the saddest is when Andy gives Woody and Co. to a little girl so she can enjoy them like he has. I'm not one for crying during films, infact, I don't think I ever have, but even I felt a lump in my throat when watching it. I also clicked with me emotionally because Andy was very similar to me. During Toy Story 1 and 2, I was about Andy's age playing with toys watching Toy Story with real imagination, but now I have left school, like Andy, and I no longer have any of my toys. Toy Story 3 sort of signalled the end of MY childhood and really, really spoke to me. A truly great film

5/5 (Must Watch)

Also, if you've taken a look at my Gamercard, you would've noticed I have a new game. Guitar Hero 5. I basically got it so my Dad could sing along to his favourite band, Queen. The only other music game I have is the Beatles: Rock Band and while I love the Beatles, my Dad doesn't really know the songs so Guitar Hero is more his thing. It also has Brianstorm by Arctic Monkeys, a song I love.

Till next time guys.

Apologies for my absence!!

So, I've been AWOL on GameSpot recently and firstly, I apologise. :) It's mostly because I have been out enjoying my summer in the day and when I come home, I'm simply to tired to do anything. But I am back and I will start commenting on your blogs and all that stuff soon.

I'm just going to update you guys on stuff going on really. On Monday, I went to Alton Towers with a few friends and almost died of heat stroke, it was damn hot. Also, if you combine all the time we we queued for rides, it must have come to around 3-4 hours. It was so damn BUSY! I did ride the new Thir13en ride. It is good, but the for the amount of time we queued up, not worth it. I also went on all the other rollercoasters (Rita, Oblivion, Air, Nemesis etc.) was a fun day. But man, I was so tired when I got in.

oblivion

Gaming wise, I've hardly been on my 360. I did however, complete the single-player and co-op campaign of Splinter Cell: Conviction. I thought the single-player was okay, but some parts were really annoying and hard! The co-op campaign however, is so fun. Me and a friend had such a blast playing it and because it was pretty hard, it took a while to do so we got a good amount of playtime out of it. I'm going try out some of the other co-op game modes before I finish with it for good. I'm also slowly going through Borderlands which I am enjoying too. I don't know how far I am into the game I am, but I must of played it for around 6 hours. Most of my recent gaming has been on Football Manager 2010, which I am getting addicted too. I took Stoke to a 5th place finish in my first season and I can't stop playing!

Till next time guys.

New Games!

Okay, sorry for the recent silence guys. I sat down to do this blog yesterday, but when I came to it I really wasn't in the mood for it. But yes, I have three new games and I'm going to give you some impressions on them!

Splinter Cell: Conviction: Great game. It sort of combines a bit of Assassin's Creed with Batman: Arkham Asylum with it's stealthy set-pieces and allowingness to let you approach any situation how you see fit. Also, this game is very, very hard. It could have something to do with the dodgy controls, but I do die A LOT in this game. Basically, it's all about not being detected and if you are chances are, you're going to die. Also, I'm getting the feeling I've actually nearly finished the main single-player even though I've only played it for 4-5 hours which is slightly disappointing. After completing, I'm going try some of the co-op modes then get started on a review. So look out for that!

Football Manager 2010: Just the most addicting game ever! This game is just so realistic allowing you to call press conferences hire your own backroom of staff and build a team to glory. It's a must for any football fan!

Borderlands: A game I've been meaning to play for ages. And it's fantastic! I'm currently playing it with another friend who has helped me out loads. Seriously, I would not have had a clue what I was doing with out him. There's just so much going on that when I first started I was struggling to figure out what was going on but now, I'm loving it. There is just so many guns to fire and them Midget Shotgunners just crack me up everytime I see them. This game also seems to have a lot of content so it's also going to take a while to complete. Which is good. :)

Till next time guys.

Planning Some Big Changes!

Okay, so if you guys remember my last blog; I said I was getting bored of my Xbox and I need some new games. Only problem is I have no money (well actually I had a spare £10 floating around, which I spent on Football Manager 2010 for my Mac) so, I think that tomorrow, after going to the barbers, I'm going take quite a stack of games down to GameStation and trade them in for one or two new games. Here are the games that are probably on their way out....

OUT

Fallout 3

BioShock 2

Bad Company 2

Left 4 Dead

Mass Effect 2 (Maybe)

Gears 2 (Maybe)

Assassin's Creed 2

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Fable II

FIFA 09

Fight Night Round 4

Fight Night Round 3

Brian Lara's International Cricket

Quite a stack of games, huh?

IN

So, with this huge stack of games I'm trading in, I'm hoping to get at least two new games. The first one will be Splinter Cell: Conviction, due to the amount of people who recommended this in my last blog. I'm not quite sure about the other game(s), but I'm sure I'll find a few good bargains.

Any other suggestions are welcome.

*EDIT: Ooh, just had a great idea. Borderlands, anyone?

-danscfc

I really need a new game!

Okay, first off, I HAVE FINISHED SCHOOL FOREVER! I start college in September so I have two whole months to enjoy summer and play some games! However, since I've completed Red Dead Redemption's main storyline, I've found myself not really wanting to go on my Xbox 360 as I have no games to play. I literally sit down, play Modern Warfare 2 for about an hour and come off. Because I might be getting a summer job in the next few weeks, I should have a bit of money to spend.

Therefore, I need a new game. And I want you guys to help me decide what I should get. Here are some ideas.

Crackdown 2

I loved the first game because it was just so damn fun! I've played the demo of Crackdown 2 and I really enjoy it and 4 player co-op makes it better. It also has zombies and massive explosions. The graphics aren't quite up to standard but I can deal witrh that. The main pull of this game is that one of my close friends is going to get it and I would be able to do some co-op.

FIFA World Cup 2010 Game

I love Football. :) And a lot of friends of mine have this game and say it is awesome. This game would also replace FIFA 10 which is starting to get really, really boring and repetitive. My main concern is that I may lose interest in it after the World Cup is finished but I could also play online matches with friends and (unlike Fabio Capello) lead England to World Cup Glory!

Splinter Cell: Conviction

This game is around 2 months old now and I was going to buy it until I heard about Red Dead Redemption, which I then saved my money up for. I've played the demo and I really enjoyed it. It is like a mix between Assassins' Creed 2 and Batman: Arkham Asylum which is awesome. Only problem with this game is I don't know anyone who owns it so I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the co-op.

Any other suggestions are welcome, but just make sure they are on the 360! :P

Most anticpated games of 2010!

Okay, first off, thanks to EVERYONE who recommended my Red Dead review. It has been thumbed up 19 times and it means a lot considering I put so much effort and thought into my reviews. Thanks guys.

We're sort of in the typical summer lull of games. Nothing big is being released in the immediate future so I'd thought I'd share the games I'm most excited about coming later this year:

Call of Duty: Black Ops

black ops

Okay, so you're probably thinking 'Another Call of Duty game' But honestly, when people buy them, they're not going to stop making them. And they are actually really good games! Modern Warfare 2 was a stunning game and it was only the little annoyances in multiplayer which let it down slightly. Call of Duty: Black Ops is developed by the OTHER developer Treyarch, who made the awful Call of Duty 3 and the disappointing CoD: World at War. However, at E3, Black Ops looked STUNNING! It seems like Treyarch is really starting to become accomplished and while I'm not promising anything yet, Black Ops looks really promising.

Halo: Reach

reach

Bungie's last ever Halo. The game is going bring an amazing campaign which is set before the events of Halo 1 and will show more about the Covenants invasion and destruction of Reach. It's also going to bring Halo multiplayer which is unbeatable. I have spent so many hours into Halo 3 and while its starting to show its age is still fantastic fun. Reach is also going bring the addictive Firefight mode from ODST. Hopefully, Bungie will add a few things like Matchmaking which will make it even better!

F1 2010

Formula 1

Okay, this probably won't appeal to many of you from North America but here in Europe; Formula 1 is massive. And F1 2010, developed by the guys at Codemasters are crafting a great game. I love Formula 1 and I love racing games so F1 2010 just sounds perfect. The game looks really realistic and also has a career mode which sounds really fun. I can't wait for September for this game!

And tomorrow, It's England v Germany.
