One Epic Game of MW2.

Epic MW2 Game

After playing some online multiplayer for quite a while, a couple of friends and I decided to load up a private match of Free-for-All on Rust and just mess about with quick-scopes, no-scopes and the emergency carepackage glitch. Well, this game went on for a LONG time, just check it for yourself:

Over three hours of just messing about. With over 700 kills each, it just went on for ever. In just a little MW2 update: I am 1st prestige Level 61 with a 1.54K/D.

Assassin's Creed 2 Review

My AC2 review has been recommened 18 times. Making it the most recommended user review available. I do take my reviews seriously, so to have it rewarded like that really puts a smile on my face. So thanks very much everyone. If you haven't yet read my AC2 review, you can check it on my profile page.

Mass Effect 2

I am loving this game so much. Not actually that far into yet but the combat system, the dialogue branches and the story are just amazing. It is serious contender to join GTA IV in the very, very exclusive 10/10 club.

BioShock 2

I may not get this game. I don't know but... with Mass Effect 2 just rocking right now and of course MW2 multiplayer and FIFA 10; I really don't feel the need for a new game. There are plenty of other things I could get such as a Beatles and Arctic Monkeys poster for my room. So I'm still undecided about BioShock 2. Maybe one for the summer.

and other stuff...

This week has been really busy for me to the point where I have been struggling to read and comment on your blogs. This has actually drove to the point where I did consider leaving GameSpot. Mainly because I have become so popular and I come back from school and there are so many new blogs, then I do my school work and there are loads more. I am struggling to keep up, so I may have to un-track some people. Don't worry, if I know you well enough, I'll still track you.

This weekend has also been a great sports weekend. Stoke won 3-0 yesterday and those who know me well will know how big of a Stoke fan I am. Also, Chelsea v Arsenal is a big game I am going watch later. And, not to leave the North Americans out, I may watch the Super Bowl later. Even though I won't have a clue what is going on.

GOTY in January???

One word, guys: Awesome. Mass Effect 2 is awesome! The cover system is probably the best I've ever seen and all the weapons, great-voice acting and amazing story.... just so good. I was also thinking: normally the first seven months of the year are usually quiet, but this year we have Mass Effect 2 (which is undoubtably going to be one the best games I play this year) and BioShock 2 is also out in a week! 2010 is looking good.

Also, I asked a few weeks ago whether you wanted a review on a certain choice on games. Well, the most requested was Assassin's Creed 2 and I finally finished my review last night. You can check out the review here: and hopefully a thumbs up?

Assassin's Creed 2 Review

Also, the final series of LOST premiers on Friday on Sky! I'm a big LOST fan, so super excited for that! I'll have a blog about it on Friday!

Mass Effect 2, baby!

Mass Effect 2

I just couldn't resist!

This game seems just to good to play, so during school today I sent my Dad a text asking him if he could pick Mass Effect 2 up for me. I come home- and there it is! I probably won't have much time to play it tonight, as I'm going out, but this weekend is Mass Effect time!

I also want to apologize for going AWOL these last few days, things have been busy and I have had no time to read your blogs. :( Sorry. Back to normal speed soon though!

Also, because of me being so busy, I have not had time to start my Assassin's Creed 2 review, but it should be up (hopefully) Sunday or Early next week.

GameSpot have finally awarded me my Best of 2009 emblem. It's about time!

Have a great weekend, guys.

BioShock 2 OR Mass Effect 2?

While you lucky North Americans enjoy Mass Effect 2 now, us Europeans have to wait till Friday. However, ME2 has been recieving some amazing reviews and this has got me thinking whether to get it or not....

It currently has a 96 on Metacritic, making it the joint 2nd best ever game on Xbox 360, therefore, it would normally be a definate buy but then I realised that BioShock 2 is out 2 weeks on Friday! I'm afraid I cannot afford to get both so it's going have to be BioShock 2 or Mass Effect 2! And I really don't know what to pick.

This is where I really need your opinion. Should I get Mass Effect 2 or BioShock 2???

Also, in my last blog I said I would write a review for one of these three games: Assassin's Creed 2, The Beatles: Rock Band or FIFA 10. Well, AC2 was the most requested so look for my review coming some time this weekend.

Also, if you're interested, Apple announced there new Tablet today called the iPad. Basically a blown up iPhone which looks slightly overpriced, but really, really beautiful. You should head to Apple's website for more info.

This week has been tough. I can't wait to get wrecked on Friday. :)

Me and Mass Effect: It's complicated.

So, Mass Effect 2 arrives in less than a week and finally it's a game that we 360 gamers can call our own. (Yes I know it's on PC, but it's exclusive to the 360 console wise). 2009 sucked for the 360 with the PS3 enjoying games like Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, inFamous and GameSpot's GOTY: Demon Souls.

I can say that I did play the original Mass Effect and it was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. Some parts I absolutely loved. The amazing dialogue branches, the complete freedom and as I progressed through the game, I started to become attached to the story. However, some parts I hated. In the beginning, I was wandering around not having a clue where I was going and I wasn't a fan of the shooting. I can honestly say that Mass Effect was one of the strangest experiences I have ever had. So strange I could not award it a score, it could've got a 1.0 for some parts and a 10 for others.

Because Mass Effect 2 is coming out so close to BioShock 2, I probably won't be getting it on release day, but maybe during the summer to get me through the usual quiet period that usually happens during that time of year.

So, how did all you feel about Mass Effect? And are you getting the sequel?

Mass Effect 2

Also, I will be willing to do a review on these three games: FIFA 10, Assassin's Creed 2 and The Beatles: Rock Band. If you tell me which one you prefer, I will do a review on the most requested.

My First Modern Warfare 2 Nuke!

Thanks to Estate being such an open map, and thanks to my AC-130 absolutely tearing the other team part, I just got my first Modern Warfare 2 Nuke! :D

For those of you who have never played MW2 online (WHY?!?) to obtain a Tactical Nuke; you need a 25 kill streak with out dieing. I have done this before, but did not have the Nuke as one of my Killstreak rewards.

So, how many Nukes have all you got?

I bought something last week, which really helped me towards my Nuke:

Turtle Beach X31

These are the Turtle Beach Ear Force X31 Headset. And it is awesome! They intergrate Xbox LIVE chat the game sound (wirelessly) they allow me to hear other team's movements and just make it so immersive. I can't wait to try them when BioShock 2 arrives- it will be awesome!

And 2009 Game of the Year is...

Before I announce the Game of the Year 2009, let me just remind you of the nominees...

Batman: Arkham Asylum

Modern Warfare 2

The Beatles: Rock Band

FIFA 10

Assassin's Creed 2

And the Game of the year is...

modern warfare 2

Modern Warfare 2

Easily the most anticipated game of the year, Modern Warfare 2 sold over 4 million copies in it's first week. Made $500 Million in it first day. And guess what? It is one heck of a game. The campaign carries on the explosive story from Call of Duty 4 taking you to some amazing places around the world and providing some excellent moments. The addition of Spec Ops also allows you to compete in some really fun 'mini-games' with a friend. However, Modern Warfare 2's strongest point by far is it's multiplayer. Call of Duty 4 was so popular so to top that is an achievement none (including me) thought they could pull off. The inclusion of new killstreaks, fun maps and completely balanced gameplay offer an experience that none other games can come close. Congrats to Infinity Ward, and Modern Warfare 2- Game of the Year 2009.

2009 Game of the Year - The Nominees!

Okay, before I start anything, I want to say a big THANK YOU to EmeraldHillzone! He made the awesome Gears of the War banner you see above and it is just awesome. So cheers, mate!! You should all go and track him!

Okay, with Assassin's Creed 2 now complete, my GOTY award is now finally here! I'm not one for 'Best Soundtrack' or 'Best Voice-acting' there is just one Game of the Year 2009. And here are the nominees:

Game of the Year 2009- Nominees:

Batman: Arkham Asylum

BATMAN

Rocksteady Studios/Eidos Interactive

Rocksteady Studios managed to do something that has never been done before. Create an awesome licenced super-hero game. Batman: Arkham Asylum broke the ice with it's awesome voice-acting, amazing action and brilliant visuals.

Modern Warfare 2

modern warfare 2

Infinity Ward/Activision Blizzard

Modern Warfare 2 was easily the most anticipated game to the year. How could it not be? Sequel to the best selling FPS of all time in Call of Duty 4; MW2 was destined for greatness. And it delivered with an explosive campaign and awesome multiplayer. It may have been covered in hype, but Modern Warfare 2 definitely delivered.

The Beatles: Rock Band

The Beatles: Rock Band

Harmonix Music/ MTV Games

Until the Beatles: Rock Band, I wasn't really a fan of music games. I felt that they were churned out with no care at all and were just money-makers. Then I played The Beatles and WOW! The amount of care that has gone into the game lives up to the standard of the Fab Four and produces the best music game of all time.

FIFA 10

FIFA 10

EA Canada/Electronic Arts

FIFA has been on a rise recently. The game's resurgence has allowed it to over take Pro Evo as the the #1 football game. This games fluid gameplay, amazing looks and lots of depth, combined with my own personal love of the sport means this year's iteration was definately a contender for Game of the Year.

Assassin's Creed 2

assassins' creed

Ubisoft Montreal/Ubisoft

Who thought Assassin's Creed 2 would be here? After the disastrious first, Ubisoft have listened to what the fans want and produced one the best action/adventure games of all time. The more likeable character and the higher amount of the depth are added but the fluid gameplay and the amazing looks are retained as Assassin's Creed 2 blows me away.

Those are the nominees and the winner will be announced on Tuesday 12th January. So check back then to see what game will win 2009's Game of the Year!

Previous Winners:

2007- BioShock (Xbox 360)

2008- Grand Theft Auto IV (Xbox 360)

2009- ????

Stay Safe, guys.

Snowed in.

snow

Like my snowman? That is the view from my bedroom window. We are enduring Arctic conditions here in the UK at the moment, I mean I expected to be cold but this is unbelieveable! I believe it dropped down to -5 last night! However, the snow is good for one thing...

I started school again on Monday (sigh) but due to the weather, I have been unable to go! That means mornings and afternoons rocking out to Beatles: Rock Band with my sister with the heating on to the max. Great times and the Beatles: Rock Band is so awesome! I completed the main story mode today and it is awesome, takes you on a tour of the Beatles' career. From the Cavern Club to the Apple Corps Rooftops. Awesome! Head and shoulders above any other music game!

If there's one thing that annoys me on GameSpot, it's people who score games really early! I mean, I read someone's blog yesterday who said 'I have played Assassin's Creed 2 for an hour now, and I have gave it a score of 7.5' I mean how can you possibly score a game after playing for an hour?! It is ridiculous! I am currently on Sequence 9 of AC2 and I will not score it or announce it in my GOTY contenders (which are coming soon by the way) until I have completed it. Rant over.

I also went on Amazon over the weekend and bought this:

lost

Anyone else here LOVE Lost? I do! It's been a while since I watched the earlier series' so I decided I would re-visit them before the final series airs on Sky1 in February.

Okay guys, stay safe, AND STAY WARM!

Games to watch in 2010!

Okay, so it's 1:00PM here in the UK, and I have only been up half an hour after a great night bringing in the New Year. Anyway, rather than just a 'Happy New Year' blog, I thought I'd tell you my most anticipated games of 2010. Here we go...

BioShock 2

BioShock 2

I loved the first one, so naturally, I cannot wait for the sequel. Hopefully, number 2 keeps the same atmosphere, tension and great gameplay that the first one had. I am slightly concerned by what I have seen so far, as it seems like nothing has changed. But isn't enough to put me off to much. Will BioShock 2 live up the standard that the first one set in 2007? We shall see on Feb 9th!

Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach

As some of you may know, I am a big Halo fan, therefore, I cannot wait for Halo: Reach. The multiplayer beta is coming in the Spring and the full game should arrive in the Autumn. Hopefully, with Halo by Bungie, going out with a bang.

Those are the confirmed tities, but there are some others, that have not been properly announced. Batman: Arkham Asylum 2, maybe Gears of War 3?

Also, my GOTY award will be arriving soon. I hope to have announced the contenders sometime next week and the winner a few days later. Stay Tuned!
