Assassins' Creed 2: Yes or No?

I wasn't exactly blown away by the original but I have been impressed by how Assassins' Creed II has been receieved by the reviewers so far. I was slighly disappointed by the original, it wasn't the MASSIVE disappointment that some people said it was but yeah the story was boring and the actual gameplay was too repetitive.

assassins' creed

GameSpot gave it a 9 (the same as Modern Warfare 2) and it currently has a 91 on Metacritic. The game doesn't come out till Friday here in the UK but to all you American gamers who maybe have it: Is it worth getting? Is is better than the original?

If I do decide to get it, it will be for Christmas (which is getting close now) So should I get Assassin's Creed 2?

I have also posted my review of Modern Warfare 2. So if you could click the link below, read it through and rate it; that would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Modern Warfare 2 Review

THAT is how you make a sequel!

Dont worry, no spoilers

Okay, I just completed Modern Warfare 2's campaign. IT IS AMAZING!

ghost

The story is fantastic, if a tad confusing. Maybe that is due to the amount of twists. I don't want to ruin for anyone who hasn't played it yet, but this is the best FPS money can buy. It is like an awesome action movie, that you get to play! Modern Warfare 2 IS the greatest shooter I have ever played! Even Halo 3.

I'm going take a little more time to play it before I give it it's score. I need to play a bit more Spec Ops and try out some of the multiplayer stuff. Could it be my first 'non-GTA' 10/10?

Now that Modern Warfare 2 is here and beaten, I've been starting to think about my GOTY. Chances are, I won't be getting any other games this year. So I am starting to think about my nominees, but they won't be announced until 2010.

Stay Safe. Stay Tuned.

Finally! It's here

Okay guys, I made a post yesterday about how annoyed I was about my MW2 not being here. (A post I deleted after calming down) Well I can finally say:

I have Modern Warfare 2!

My Hardened Edition arrived today and it is so gorgeous! Beautiful case and I can't wait to play this game! So I thought I'd let all of you know that I am finally playing it!

Sorry, I can't bear this anymore. Going play MW2!

Stay Safe Guys.

Modern Warfare 2 is nearly here!

Now I'm not sure if anyone else has heard of this, but on 10th November (Tuesday), there is a certain game being released. The game is Modern Warfare 2, and it promises to be one of the best games of all time.

modern warfare 2

No, in all seriousness, Modern Warfare 2 is the most anticipated game I can remember. It looks seriously awesome and I can't wait for Tuesday to come. I've had my copy on order from Amazon since the end of August, and I seriously CANNOT WAIT! I'm getting the Hardened Edition, and I'm just so excited! One thing I will say is this: Modern Warfare 2 is the last game I will get this year. No Left 4 Dead 2. No Assassins' Creed 2. 2009 ends with MW2.

I also completed 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' for GTA IV today, ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! Seriously, I was debating whether this was better than GTA IV itself. Luiz Lopez is a fantastic protagonist and Yusuf Amir has become one of my favourite GTA characters of all time. Loved Gay Tony and a 9.5 is well deserved.

I've also been playing a lot of Forza Motorsport 3 recently. The online is fantastic although it is quite annoying when someone smashes you off the track. Great game, which I awarded a 8.5. Harsh? As good as it is, it isn't as good as CoD4 and Gears of War on 9, so I think 8.5 is a suitable score.

Are you getting Modern Warfare 2 on release day? Are you waiting till Christmas? Maybe not getting it at all?

What game are you most excited about?

Okay guys, that's enough from me.

Stay Safe. Stay Tuned.

And roll on 10th November.

The scariest game you've played?

So today is 31st October, which is also HALLOWEEN! While Halloween isn't as fun as when it was when you're a kid, I still love to get into the spirit so I'd thought I'd ask everyone's scariest game OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!

I'm not really the one to play scary games, but one is a complete stand-out:

dead space

For those who haven't played Dead Space, it is truly terrifying. You slowly walk round an alien infested spaceship, in a complete nervous wreck. One stand out moment was when I was walking through the corridors when I saw an Alien's corpse, and I slowly walked over to it, my line gun equipped. I stood over it for a few seconds when BAM! it jumped up and started trying to tear my limbs apart.

So, what's the scariest game you've ever played? Any game, any platform.

Okay guys. Stay Safe.

And Happy Halloween! :D

Hello Again, Liberty City

So tomorrow, the second and last Xbox 360 exclusive expansion hits. 'The Ballad of Gay Tony' focuses on the glitzy, high-life with some action-packed missions at high altitudes. First of all, I am a massive GTA fan. Don't believe me, check my All Time Ratings. The only games to recieve perfect 10's are San Andreas and GTA IV.

The first piece of DLC, The Lost & Damned was awesome and remains the best piece of DLC I have ever played so I am super excited for Gay Tony'. The reviews have been fantastic and a 10+ hour game for just 1600 Microsoft Points is great value.

I also got tagged this week so instead of 10 facts, I'll just do 5:

1. My name is Dan and I live in England.

2. I love football (also called soccer in some parts of the world)

3. My football team is Stoke City, we are in the Premier League.

4. My first console I ever owned was a Sega MegaDrive.

5. My favourite game of all time is GTA: San Andreas on the PS2.

I'm not going tag anyone else as I want this to stop.

Take it easy, guys.

Speak to ya soon.

New game!

Today I went down to my local supermarket and purchased a new game.

forza 3

That's right, Forza Motorsport 3. It's been getting great reviews, including GameSpot giving it a 9.5. Loving it so far!

I also got into the Xbox LIVE Preview Program. This is basically a handful of people that get to testdrive the next update for Xbox LIVE before the rest of the service get it. This update includes Twitter, Facebook and Last.fm. They all work really well and while I will probably not use them much even when they are released, anyone who does will be impressed.

This last week I have been really ill. From Wednesday-Friday I lay in bed, completely struck down by whatever had infected me. Probably due to the cold winter weather. However, now running at about 90% and feeling a lot better. I also have the whole week off school next week thanks to half-term. :D

Okay guys. Enjoy the weekend.

Windows 7, anyone?

On Thursday, Windows 7 will be available to purchase from retailers all across the world. Thankfully putting an end to the horror that is Windows Vista.

windows 7

In my last blog post, I showed you my gaming setup. A few eagle-eyed readers noticed a mouse on my desk and correctly assumed I used my TV for my Xbox 360 and PC. Well that PC is 5 years old! And it cost me like £200. Guess what, it runs Windows 7 superbly. So if you're worried about your oldish PC not being to run it, don't worry it. It will run it.

Windows 7 is basically a trimmer version of Windows Vista. It no longer hogs all the resources of your computer (unlike Vista) and just makes your computer perform better. All you PC gamers may want to upgrade to 7 as I've heard it runs games a lot better. Hopefully my school will upgrade to Windows 7 sometime soon as we are all still using XP. I currently use a MacBook for all my computer work, however, I should be getting a new PC for Christmas. With Windows 7.

If you are currently running Vista, I urge you to upgrade to Windows 7. It will make your computer run a lot faster.

So, what OS are you running? Windows XP? Vista?

On a personal note, I have half-term break from school next week. Making that wait for Modern Warfare 2 a little easier.

Okay guys. Take it easy.

The Weekend FTW!

I haven't blogged in a while, mainly because nothing much is going on in my life at the moment. Just plodding along in life, waiting for Modern Warfare 2. So the game is is now getting SO close, however, in the UK, Royal Mail are threatening to go on strike, that is getting me worried my copy may not arrive from Amazon on the 10th November. But it should... hopefully.

So, recently I have been playing Call of Duty 4 in attempt to train up for Modern Warfare 2, and I forgot just how FREAKING good CoD4 is. It is so awesome!

I also saw Zombieland at my local cinema last Sunday, GREAT FILM! Quite similar to Left 4 Dead in someways.

Okay guys, I just wanted you to know I haven't fallen off the face of the planet.

Enjoy the Weekend.

I'll leave you with a pic of my gaming setup.

setup

CoD4= STILL AWESOME!

With Modern Warfare 2 now EXACTLY one month away, I've been playing a lot of Call of Duty 4 recently in order to get back into the swing of things come the 10th November. The multiplayer, while not as good as Halo 3, is absolutely amazing. Even nearly two years since release, it is brilliant fun to play. Infinity Ward are fantastic game developers and I can't wait for Modern Warfare 2.

Talking of MW2, today is the 10th October, which is one month till the game arrives. I simply CANNOT WAIT! The settings look fantastic, from the slums of Rio de Janeiro, to even Washington D.C. I don't know if anyone saw GTTV, but they showed a lot of Spec Ops, which looks awesome as well. Breach and Clear looked especially awesome. Bring on 10th November.

modern warfare 2

I also want to apologise to all my GameSpot friends for my lack of activeness this last week. It is definitely coming to the 'colder' part of the year which has triggered me getting a really bad cold. I do feel like crap at the moment, but hopefully I will soon recover. Also, this week, my friend told me he was getting the Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition Xbox 360, just curious, anyone else getting this?

Oh, and it may be useless now, but go vote for Mario in the Greatest Game Hero competition thing.

Vote, Vote, VOTE!

Okay guys, that's enough from me for now.

Take it easy.
