People who get excited at the notion of Half Life 3 being a VR game
Reminds me of the people who get excited about rehash live action movies by Disney.
People who get excited at Half Life 3 being a VR game are probably the type of people that actually look forward to groundbreaking innovation.
If Boneworks is any measure, a Half Life VR game can be truly revolutionary.
Not only do they have the opportunity to reimagine how physics works in gameplay, but they can reimagine how AI reacts to players, and how 3D audio ties into all of it.
At best, traditional games this generation try to reimagine something like the open world, like BOTW and Red Dead 2. That's as far as they've been able to push. Gameplay is otherwise very much just an evolution of what came before. With VR, the rules change entirely.
