Yeah, usually. The only time it doesn't bother me is when a foreigner says it-- it's understandable then.

Well what do you belive in more?

Science is the study of the physical. God concerns the emotional, moral, and spiritual aspects of human existence. They aren't contrary to one another.

That is a view of God that is not from a literal reading of God's word. A view like this is dualistic and only one can be absolutely true. I once was a theistic-evolutionist before coming to the realization that it is okay to believe in a literal view of the Bible, even if it not be popular.

It's not ok to have a literal view of the bible.

It's also not ok to be burning in Hell for all of eternity.

Saying, "Well, I don't believe in Heaven or Hell" isn't going to change reality.

You'll be judged, just as Hitler Stalin, Mao ZeDung and the rest of humanity who has already passed away.

Literal view or not, bickering about one's intellect willearn no one salvation.

I'm saying not to waste your intellect giving us BS links about the fossil record and whatever other "support" you have to back up Macro-evolution, considering you won't convince anyone that your theory is filled with facts.

Saying you that you do believe in heaven or hell isn't going to change the fact that you're just gonna rot in the ground.

Yes, my body will rot on this earth, but my soul will be judged in righteousness, just as yours will.

There's still time to repent, it's not too late. You're still alive and breathing.

Nope, nothing will be judged, because souls don't exist.

They don't huh? Can you prove to me that respect exists? What about love?

Also, we as humans have about 1% of all the knowledge out there in the universe. To say such absolute statements when you yourself lack so much knowledge, aren't we being a bit too hasty in our conclusions? I would even go as far as say a supernatural act of God creating the universe is always a possibility, as is macro-evolution.

Souls don't exist. Respect and love cannot be compared to a soul. I can show respect just as I can respect someone. I can love and show love. However, how do we prove there are souls? And if souls exist, are they perfect? Could one have a damaged soul?

Another thing... why don't animals have souls as well?

Thus, God planned from the very beginning a Messiah. The messiah was with God from the beginning(John 1:1-4).

Ineedtofindyou

Why bother? If God could have created us to be "perfect", then why didn't he? What purpose did making imperfect people and sending his son to die for our imperfections serve?

Who will pay the fine for all of humanity? Who can redeem us through one's own bloodshed? None other than Jesus Christ.

Ineedtofindyou

Do we really need someone to "pay the fine for all humanity"? What's wrong with our system of law? It seems to do a pretty decent job at distributing punishments.

Just curious, as I've always been confused by this. What makes Jesus's death compensate for every evil thing we've done over thousands/millions of years? I mean, God created all these imperfect people and then sent his son Jesus to forgive all of our imperfections. I... I don't really follow that...

Hey all,

I've just gotten a PSP and was wondering which of these two games I should get. I played a few LocoRoco demos and loved them (some of the music is REALLY bothersome, though...). I, however, have also heard good things about Lumines. I have yet to play it

So, since you all know better than I do, which do you recommend?

Thanks!

I have a completely different opinion. I thought it was one of the worst movies I have ever seen. There were moments that I laughed, but for the most part, I found it quite lame.metallica_fan42

This man speaks the truth.

Maybe, but what`s the meaning then? If there`s nothing after you die, then what`s the point of living?

Also, the second life is far better than the first in Christianity. This is the only life we`ll have on earth; what happens next is up to us.

GameBoy966

There isn't a point, ergo we must find meaning in our lives ourselves. Consequently we have developed leisure activities, devotion, religion, pastimes, indulgences, and various other methods of keeping ourselves occupied and entertained. Believing in a good afterlife is damaging to this only life in that people having a hard time will simply accept it and say various versions of "there will always be future lives." If no such thing exists, which I am certain it doesn't, then many people are wasting their lives in pipe dreams.

But if it does exist, which I`m certain it does, then many people are sealing their own fate by saying it doesn`t. Even if God doesn`t exist, do you want people to just do whatever they want? "If it feels good, do it" is the worst possible way to live your life, because it may feel good now, but what about the future? *** feels good, but what if it results in an unwanted pregnancy or STDs? If everyone lived this way, there probably wouldn`t even be an America; do you think the founding fathers thought everything they went through back then felt good?

So you're saying we can't be moral without religion?

No, where does it say that? Of course you can be moral without religion, but what I mean is if people just do whatever we want, this world would be a horrible, horrible place. Do you think people WANT to go out and work for a living? No, but if they didn`t, economies would collapse, governments would fall, and wars would break out, etc.

Yeah, it wouldn't really work. But still, what I got from your last post is "Without a God, people would do whatever they want", and that religion regulates this. Am I correct?
