damn, am i the only one who cares about online multiplayer? where are the responses?
dchase2k8's forum posts
MLB The Show is a polished simulation but the game "feels" identical to version '08, '07, '06, dating back to the PS2 days.
There's something to be said for MLB 2Ks "fresh" approach to the genre. I like using the right stick to pitch and hit, and there was a solid foundation in MLB 2K9 ... the game just needed a lot more polish.
Damn, has the pc platform gone that much to crap that we can't even name more than 5-7 titles?
I should have noted to exclude console ports (MW2).
Nice...I like UT. There's a good title to add to my list. Didn't know there was still a lot of online-support/users for that game.
Any games dude (read the post). I included Starcraft + Blizz titles after that.
I've been getting the itch to play some online multiplayer on my PC. I was wondering if anybody knew of some titles (any genre) that have big communities and a lot of online-gamers still (please exclude console ports).
Here are games I know that you can still find a lot of online-multiplayer users:
1. Starcraft Broodwar (and any Blizzard released game after that - especially WoW).
2. Team Fortress 2
3. Company of Heroes (RTS)

Starcraft: Brood War
That game gets 9 out of 10s across the board but deserves to break the standard 1-10 scale with an "11".
Games these days are made to appeal to all ages and backgrounds.
10 yrs ago, games were made for geeks.
Games that appeal to all backgrounds are graphic heavy and shallow strategy wise.
Games made for nerds were games that took a lot of time investment and learning curve to be successful at (that's the types of game us in our mid 20s-30s grew up with).
It's like going from playing chess hard-core for yrs growing up ... then being forced to play checkers. Checkers is fun for a minute, but Chess offers a far more deep and rewarding experience.
