@MigGui @de-astroturfer Unfortunately that isn't the case, I wasn't actually accusing Gamespot of fixing the review but mainly making a point about the use of the word conspiracy, and giving a view of why in this internet age its far from conspiratorial to assume that some sites would want to accept payment to push up a review score, to make ends meet. But assuming Gamespot were paid for the review for the sake of your argument, if they had given COD Ghosts a 10 then perhaps they would be out of business but to give it a 7 or an 8 when on more critical analysis it only deserves a 6 would maintain a certain balance of credibility to maintain their readership, whilst still proclaiming a game to be worthwhile purchase.

@costan_lucian Im sorry but to dismiss the value of review scores is nonsense its a long established system of quantifying the quality of a game without having to invest £50 to find out if your going to waste your money, its been going on for years because it works ! you may have noticed most triple A games don't have demo versions because the publisher assumes public hysteria will sell the game and giving them a demo will merely give some potential buyers the opportunity to discover that, that game isn't for them.

But the PR game isn't about making a quality item and convincing individuals to buy that product based on its quality anymore its about building up hype and selling to the masses and review scores are a means of maintaining that hype, one of many tools to maintain an illusion, you can site individual choices as being the beginning and the end of the argument, but peer pressure and the pack mentality sell more games.

people seem to be increasingly using the word conspiracy like some magic word which nullifies all the facts, oh look someones noticed what we're up to lets use the word conspiracy and make a joke about tin foil hats , that'll shut them up.

Mircrosoft give there encryption keys to the NSA, "what do you think it is some kind of conspiracy wheres your tin foil hat"

Gamespot gives COD ghosts 8/10 "what do you think it is some kind of conspiracy wheres your tin foil hat".

The fact is in the old days we used to buy a thing called a magazine the act of buying said magazine was how the writers of that magazine made money, now this information is given away for "FREE" !?!? on the internet and writers are given Googles scraps, how do these writers make ends meet ???? whilst I have the deepest sympathy for the need to make money in this new internet age, made all the more difficult by the fact Google keeps giving away everybody else's handwork away for free to maintain its Monopoly, but I resent being called Paranoid for noticing the obvious.

Quote "Forza 5 is a good enough game to justify the purchase of an Xbox One alone"

xbox one £430 Forza 5 £50 the other half of Forza 5 £100+, Micro transactions to play on a level playing field as others players £unlimited, worth it ???? even without the DLC and Microtransactions I would have a hard time justifying £480 for any racing game let alone half a racing game.

Another voice control system which doesn't work as advertised, just another tech company running out of ideas and trying to sell us their unimaginative and poor interpretation of science fiction, whats going to be the USP of the xbox Two, slightly better voice control and 1080p

@Manatassix I knew they'd pull that trick and said as much on Gamespot, basically regardless of their claims the xbox one works without Kinnect after the backlash, they were always going to make life as difficult as possible to use the console without having Kinnect on 24/7, our personal information including biometric data is worth too much to Microsoft.

Another voice control system which claims to revolutionise technology and doesn't work as advertised. Siri kinnect all the same, tech companies running out of idea's and trying to emulate science fiction "badly", we're quite happy using our fingers thank you very much, revolutionise somewhere else, I duno like games for instance !

When I first saw this I was disappointed I was expecting a long awaited sequel to Mario 64 or Mario Galaxy 3, whilst Im still waiting impatiently for those 2 games, I have to say the more I see of this game the more I like, not a fan of Windwaker not a patch on Ocarina of Time, but together with Mario 3D world its pretty clear Nintendo have the better games this holiday season compared to the 2 next gen consoles.
