"I broke the dam"....

lol i have a 26 inch also and I think its pretty good if you sit close. But ever since I mounted it on the wall, I find it uncomfortable. This would have never happened with a 40 inch...

For consoles, unless your rich, HD isn't worth the money, if your on a tight budget, just dont bother, its not worth it.

For PC's however, it's arguably more worth it, but thats not what your enquiring about.

I have a little Samsung LCDTV/Monitor Syncmaster 710MP that i received as a present a while back, now, until i got my Xbox 360, i had no idea it was technicly HD, well, it's not true HD as it's not widescreen, but it's higher res than a regular TV due to being a PC monitor at the same time.

This explained why my normal games looked so bad, being stretched to the monitor wasnt good for image quality (on a lot of PS2 games i cant even read the text, and dont even ask about PS1, SNES/NES games) Same for my 360.

But, once i got VGA cables, it smoothed it out so much and looks very crisp and nice running at 1024x768, however, i don't really notice any difference while playing it on my normal TV downstairs except screen tearing on Dead Rising, their is less of it on lower resolution SDTV.

My advice, buy whatever you can afford, but unless you have the money to throw around, buy a normal tv, or something that will fulfill more than the use of just being HD for your xbox (Like mine for example which was my PC monitor for 2 years, even though i no longer have a PC, just a laptop) as buying an HDTV just for that purpose, considering my own personal experience, would seem to me like a waste of money.

Feel free to disregard, like i said, just my personal opinion/experience.

Looks like someone hasn't really experienced HD

In this era when buying a tv, its either Hd or no tv. Because if you get a sd tv now, later on your gonna want to buy an hdtv. Edtv is basically a flat panel sdtv. Its just a stupid gimmick to trick lest informed people looking for a flatpanel hdtv into buying a piece of sh*t edtv because its cheaper.

lol this tc seems to

That's his problem, if he wants to come off as somebody with turrets syndrome then more power to him.  The fact that he said he was trying to act like a black person indicates that he is a generalizing stereotype and that's what I replied on!

thats true that not all of them talk like that...just the majority

[QUOTE="deathmirage87"][QUOTE="XboxUnderground"]so I'm sitting here watching King Kong on HDDVD in PowerDVD and I was thinking to myself "how the heck can I grab screens from this?"

I've seen on AVS that someone was using a program called snagit to do captures of Blu-Ray video so I got that, but alas it's not capturing the overlay(I prolly don't know what I'm doing), I tried fraps and it doesn't work, I also tried Capture and Hypersnap and neither wanted to work for me

anyone know what to use? Or how to properly use one of the programs I hve

wait how did you get your hd dvd player to work on the pc?

http://localhostr.com/files/c46c39057dc3fbe73d9f.rar you'll also need PowerDVD w/ HD Video support and possibly AnyDVD - HD I dunno if you really need that to play them though if you have an HDCP compliant monitor, if not that program will let you watch in full res over any digital connection, and you can also make backups of your already legally purchased videos

which version of powerdvd did you uses?
