inFamous is the better overall game, in terms of quality etc. But Prototype does have its mindless fun flair.

[QUOTE="PAL360"]

Werent Ghostbusters, Dead Space, Assassins Creed, etc developed for PS3 and then ported to 360?? And guess what? They still look as good if not better on 360!

PAL360

Sources?

All the games you listed were developed for Engines that were already in use / originally dev'd for PC O.o

Too lazy to look for them, just asking! Still i remember ppl saying it here on system wars a few times.

If anyone has sources to prove it, it'd be nice. I did hear the guy from Ghostbusters claim it was, everyone else I do not know.

So, so true. It basically goes like this:

360 fanboy: "Ha! Our version wins again! I thought that your precious PS3 was more powerful than our 360! So much for the power of the cell!"

PS3 fanboy: "So what? They don't count; our exclusives look better than your multiplats anyday of the week!"

360 fanboy: "LOL. Our 360 can pull off those same kind of graphics or even much better graphics if given the chance to, & in less development time & money, too!"

etc, etc. They're just totally blind to the truth that the PS3 isn't exactly more powerful, & multiplats prove it.

PAL360

multiplats are built for 1 system then ported to the next. multiplats dont mean a thing. its the exclusives that are made by first party devs that really know how to get the best of the system that shows what the console can do....go learn something. the reason why multiplats look a tad better on the 360 is becasue they make it for that sytem then port it to the ps3 because 1. it has more user base. 2. its easier to develop for. kay?..lemming?

@adman66

To prevent posting a giant wall of text, I will simply say you once again did not fully read my post, nor did you read the entire exchange between myself and the other user. The fact is I was actually asking for him to show me where his data came from. We both came to an agreement about the IBM data.

It's a shame you don't read entire posts.

More threads is an advantage up to a point BUT having a central unit with fewer big threads coupled with a multitasking unit can (ie tradition CPU GPU combo) can give better results. NEVER would i advocate only using one thread for everyone but it's a question of resource management. You can't just keep adding threads and expect an improvement in 3d performance.

Much of the work developers end up doing with the PS3 is breaking the work down into little chunks for the SPUs, the approach the 360 takes (more PC like) makes accomplishing a task is much easier if you are used to working with a multiplatform or multipurpose engine ie if you are not creating tools specific to the cell which takes time and money.

We could debate 9 smaller thread Vs. 3 bigger ones all day but my point is that;

you can't make a Square Peg then boast about it not fitting in a round hole.

Your final point is win.

Not more smack talk, NB did this with their last game. Remember? They stated that Uncharted only used 30% of the PS3 possible power, whatever the hell that means. Im getting sick of all this talk, many developers disagree with them and im more inclided to belive people who are not being published by the hardware manufacturer. Take Carmacks comments for instance, IDs games post 2001 suck granted, but he backed it up in a logical nature. More threads =/= better performance. Infact it means more work, some games still prefer to just use 1 thread and they do this for a reason.BoloTheGreat

Do you really want EVERY game to use a single thread and halt the need for advancement in processing? (For consumers OFC)

[QUOTE="decoppel"][QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]Don't need it. It's called common sense...adman66

Your common sense is different than mine I suppose, I have read many articles on PS3s cap performance, and it is actually possible via those articles to hit 100%, but it is not going to be a common occurrence. But I would love to see your math first.

you do realize "cap" performance is not real time performance right?

and just so you know, the fact you gave no factual evidence(ie: a link) to counter his claim then i am forced to believe a lv20 and not a lv2 poster.

and pelase show your math as you seem to be a rocket scientist

Damn, I am called out by someone who trolls GS harder than me. What do I do?!

Like I said, if he has something I haven't seen before I would love to see it, we ended up talking about the same article but I suppose for a fanboy like yourself it was too hard to read past this post wasn't it?

He made the first claim, and I asked for some support to his claim, why am I the one who is supposed to be linking him?

http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/library/pa-cellperf/

Going by the reference chart, 6 SPEs yield 153.6g/flops of performance. The 360 is pulling 115 FULLY MAXED OUT, you are now going to tell me that the PS3 can't obtain anything over 115 gflops, right?

The fact is the PS3s CPU is more powerful.

@ Tesselation : You talk a lot of **** against the PS3 for someone who uses PSN. Where did Crytek say anything against Sony? Cevat himself said he was able to squeeze more power from the PS3 and create a game that was no longer the lowest, but maybe the highest (indirectly saying > 360 because we know it cannot compete with a fully spec'd out PC)
