Yeah, I would say more "evolutionary" for the replays. Hopefully they come out with an update that makes the Forge an all-out editor, not just placing items all over the place. And isn't "custom games mode" really just multiplayer but with most of the variables "unlocked"? Sounds like a lazy implementation... Goldeneye was cooler because you had to unlock some of the multiplayer variables yourself. Talk about a regression.

@Zero-pirate It's true they also used a Madden game to recruit, but I would guess that a FPS game probably does a better job in recruiting. The article said that when the Air Force did this with Madden, they got 2 recruits. Even the Halo3 motto, "Finish the fight" reeks of war propaganda. That motto is coming from the article... I've never heard it since I've been inundated with "Believe". Also, the Air Force was targeting kids younger than the ESRB rating age. What exactly were they trying to do? They can't recruit them. But the overall point was, how does a game's level of realism vs. fantasy play into real world applications? I would think Halo3 would do better than Madden in recruiting for the military because of a healthy dose of fantasy to hide real-life consequences of war, while the realism of fighting off an enemy force with your fellow marines connects the gamer more to the pride of being in the military. Or, is it as Zero-pirate says, and anything that is really popular going to be used for recruiting? In which case, how soon can we expect to see Pokemon tournaments sponsored by the Army?

As a point of reference, where are all of you getting that Halo3 is in 1080p? The article above says 720p, which is the most any current console game is natively run.

Hate to break it to the "fantasy vs reality" debaters... but if this game is being used as a recruiting tool for the military, how does that fall in with your arguments? On one hand, you could argue that only a game with some minimum level of realism could be used for recruiting, otherwise people wouldn't make the connection. On the other, maybe a game that has a sufficient dose of fantasy is enough to "con" kids into joining, because they think war will be as fun as playing Halo. Discuss.

So.... GS, you're saying that I should get this game because the water is awesome? After I pick up a copy, I'll make sure to stop by the grocery store to buy some bottled water as well, since that water is also more awesome. Or I can just stop by 7-11 and kill two birds with one stone. Last I checked, no serious person ever bought a game because the water was awesome, or to extend this further, that the graphics are awesome. Hypothetical situation, if FF:Mystic Quest had the most awesome graphics in the world, but otherwise was the exact same game, would it no longer be a cursed hellspawn of a game? I guess what I'm trying to say is... GS... don't do one of these cheesy "the graphics are better on the next-gen system" ever again. Your choice in pics is terrible, and you should be focusing on how the gameplay is better... maybe with some video examples.
