I Pwn

I'm working on Final Fantasy 9, and I'm practically finishing a disc a day! Oh ya! You like THAT!? *spank* *spank* Btw, it's an incredibly good game, I can't seem to stop playing it.

I've Witnessed Nintendo's Strategy Work

I've been converting people left and right to being future Wii owners.  Most of these people are girls who will not be impressed by higher framerates, nor do they care about better shader effects.  They would never buy a PS3 for Blue Ray, nor would they care if Halo 3 has better graphics than Halo 2.

It's incredible, Nintendo is right.  They're going to reach a larger market because they are giving the mainstream public what they want: fun at an affordable price.  Here's how it always goes:

1-We talk about the new controller, "ooh!  That's cool!" they say.
2-Some other features are mentioned, like "oh hey, did I mention you can play Duck Hunt on it?"
3-And then, finally, the price.  Gets them every time, I'm not even kidding.  "Around 200 bucks?  Sweet, I'm totally getting a Wii!" they declare.

What can I say?  Nintendo is right.

Playstation's in trouble. I can pay 400 less dollars to get a Wii, and it will let me play practically any game to exist from Nintendo's past (not to mention the Sega Genesis), will have a revolutionary new way to play games (as well as a rumble feature, unlike the PS3), has built in wireless capabilities (the $500 PS3 doesn't), and has a way better lineup of games to boot!

If a product costs more, that should be because it is a superior product...but price aside, the Wii is clearly superior to the PS3.  Why on earth would I pay 3 times as much money to buy a system that is inferior?  Simple answer: I won't.

These Bleeping Things

I think about her every day.  I know I should give up on her, she'd barely give me the time of day, and things don't seem to be improving.  Emotionally speaking, I can't let go, I just keep trying in vain.  That puts me in the "screwed" spot, doesn't it?  Every night I go to bed and think about her, and how screwed I am, until I lose consciousness.

Too Many Games

I never thought I'd hear myself say this, but I've got too many games to play. Now that I've got a Gaystation 2, I can pretty much get whatever game I want out there. Here's my "to do" list: PS2/PS1 chrono cross ff8 ff9 ff7? ffX ffx-2 ff12 Tales of Legendia Tales of the Abyss Shadow of the Colossus? GC Baten Kaitos Origins Zelda Twilight Princess Wii Metroid Prime 3 Zelda Twilight Princess Red Steel Mario Galaxy (coming up) I mean seriously, how am I going to cram it in? Originally, my plans for this fall were to play Baten Kaitos Origins and Zelda on my Cube, then when that was done go and buy a Wii. But now I've got the capability to play all the PS2 and PS1 games that I've missed out on through the years, so I've suddenly got like 10 rpg's to work through!

Wii's Graphical Potential Not Yet Tapped

This is really really bugging me. The Wii is more powerful than the Xbox, so where are all the "better than Xbox" games? Why isn't there a game out there that looks better than Halo 2? The Wii could do it!

It's almost like the developers just don't care anymore; I just don't get it. Let's see some games that surpass Resident Evil 4, and Halo 2, and all the other high end GC/Xbox games.

The architecture is similar to the GC, so it shouldn't take developers long to tap into that new potential, so WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON!?

RPG Madness

I just bought Final Fantasy 8 and 9, as well as Chrono Cross.  I am totally catching up on all the rpg's that I missed out on over the years!

My plan is to play all the Final fantasies this fall, as well as the main Tales games.  I'm gonna be busy busy busy!

My Gaming Mission

Now that I have a PS2, I'm already hard at work on Tales of Legendia. I just found out about Tales of the Abyss coming to the PS2 as well, so I'll pick that up this fall when it's released. On top of that, I have pretty much the entire Final Fantasy series to work through, so there's lots of gaming to do! My hit list: 1-Tales of Legendia 2-FF7 3-FF8 4-FF9 5-FFX 6-FF X-2 7-FF12 8-Tales of the Abyss So many RPGs!!

Did You See That Pig Fly By?

I bought a PS2 today, and I can hardly believe I did it.  It was cheap, and now I can play Tales of Legendia, not to mention all of the Final Fantasy games that I'd missed out on throughout the years.

It's the slimline model, pretty slick, nice and small, kinda shaped like the Wii will be!  Aside from being my portal to RPG heaven, it will also replace my Xbox as my DVD player on my TV.  The Xbox one is fiddly, and quite often doesn't read discs very well.  The PS2 DVD player works perfectly, and I can control movies flawlessly with the dualshock controller as well, no need for remote controls and the attachment and such.

So there you have it, I now own a GameCube, an Xbox, and a PS2.  This may be foreshadowing for what I will do next gen: grab a Nintendo system at launch, several years later finally give in and buy a Microsoft system for a Halo game, and eventually, when the price is convenient, buy a Sony system.  Time will tell!

The 3 Levels of Wii Graphics

Aiight, I got it figured out, there are three echelons (levels) of Wii graphics. Every game fits one of these three categories on the Wii.

So, without further ado..

Echelon 3 is the lowest level of Wii graphics. This is the bulk of games that simply look like GameCube games. Generally they look like impressive looking GC games, but GC games nonetheless. Examples:
1. Sponge Bob
2. Necro Nesia
3. Excite Truck

Echelon 2 is where most of the popular Wii titles live. They look like high-end GC games PLUS an extra bucket of light blooming dumped on top. They push the boundaries ever so slightly, displaying graphics that are out of GameCube's reach, but not by much. Examples:
1. Metroid Prime 3
2. Red Steel (getting close to echelon1 in new screenshots)
3. Project H.A.M.M.E.R.
4. Smash Bros. Brawl

Echelon 1 is a lonely place to live for a game right now, but hopefully that will soon change. This is the level of graphical quality that truly looks next gen, and beautiful, and is clearly well beyond what GC can do. This echelon is where games have huge draw distances, lots of bump mapping, clever lighting, high polygon counts, and generally impress the eyes. Examples:
1. Super Mario Galaxy
