So you quote a singled out review from Australia yet disregard pretty much the majority of every other well established firm that makes the iPhone 5 out to be the clear winner in the market as it stands? Real reliable and unbiased.-_-' to an educated mind there will be new and great things to see in this update, but to the uneducated it looks like a slightly bigger version of their iPhone 4s. iPhone 5 gets 8/10 on CNET AU, i find them the most reliable.
GS3 - 9.5
4g GS3 - 7.5
One XL - 8.5
"Apple's design focuses on looks rather than ergonomics, iOS is mostly uncustomisable, and connectivity expansions, like HDMI and SD cards, are available only through expensive Apple-designed adapters. Apple probably believes that these are compromises that most users will live without, and in most cases, this might be true. We just wish we could have more of a say in how we use this phone, and we think experienced tech consumers will feel the same."
He is probably harsher than I would be on the review but his gripe seems more with iOS than the phone itself, in saying that he found it very ergonomically unfriendly, and i agree to a certain extent. The rounded edges have always been nicer to hold than the edged design introduced in the iphone 4, the only problem now is that its a larger edged phone.
Anyhow SOC wise its still a great little chip.

I don't think he was arguing more less than he was just making a statement. iOS has become a pretty alarmingly good gaming experience. The iPad 3 and especially the new iPhone 5 make it a comparable experience to current gen consoles mainly for the fact that the games can be wirelessly projected onto TV's (or with an HDMI cable) to bring graphically intensive games to the big screen while utilizing the iPod/iPhone as a controller. The graphics in an iPhone 5 are so ridiculously close to a current gen 360 it's amazing. Fifa on the iPhone allows you to all share a single TV screen while allowing everyone to join in with their iPods/iPhones for use as a controller for the action going on the TV. Suffice it to say, Game Center ties it down and makes it a legitimate platform. It just makes sense for gamers to be on iOS more than any other mobile platform. Pretty much is a dead given and accepted norm that iOS wins hands down in the gaming department. You say you are not interested in playing games that much now and yet you plan to buy an ipad to play games? I mean sure iOS is a real gaming platform now no doubt about it but your argument makes no sense. You dont have to give in "several" hours into console games like fifa and need for speed, there are many pick up and play games on consoles.
The iphone and ipad are very formidable portable gaming solutions so it's totally understandable if an ipad replaces a nintendo DS or PS vita. But comparing it with console gaming just makes no sense to me. Console gaming is more expensive yes but it's just as accessible if not more and unquestionably a more entertaining way to pass time.

Nine out of ten drop tests and torture tests show the GS3 breaking far easier than an iPhone 5.
What I love about this, is even if you slap a case on the iPhone 5, it still comes out lighter and thinner than a naked GS3. Win.

Just goes to show the iPhone 5 is a lot more than a "marginal" upgrade that's "slightly" better.
Three times the benchmark score than the 4S. Loving the three second boot-up time as well!
Didn't realize how much of a leap the 5 is over the 4S.
