Yeah. Let's marginalize the whopping success the 5 is enjoying even before its release. Orrrr, it could be because of the fact that 1 out of every 5 android owner has decided to make the switch. The numbers are about double that of 4S but do keep in mind one huge difference, the iphone 5 has been made available to pre-order in more countries than the 4S.
I wouldnt bet on it but apple might be hitting saturation soon.

That's what I thought. Once again, drivel that no one should be paying attention to. You were saying? iPhone 5, sold double the amount the iPhone 4S in even less time. Ahhhhhh. Yes. Enjoy it.[QUOTE="BeErBOnG29"][QUOTE="Kid-Atari"] Source that 5's stock was equal to or MORE than 4S'? I don't think you know what a shortage is. It doesn't matter if the 5 was in manufacturing 15 years longer than the 4S, if there's a shortage of a specific needed part, then that will halt manufacturing.BeErBOnG29
Those aren't customer pre-orders man. We've been through this so many times. That's 9 million carrier pre-orders. That means the amalgamation of different carriers pre-ordered stock to the collective tune of 9 million units. Facepalm. There's no way in hell that phone will sell even at half the pace the iphone 5 is nowGalaxy S3 had nine-million pre-orders so what record??

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="BeErBOnG29"]It's not about data transfer (though it's slow on that regard as well). It's about rendering everyone's peripherals useless unless they want to buy an adapter that costs $30 PER PERIPHERAL. I am not entirely sure why they changed connectors, but since they decided to they should have went mini USB. But like I said above, apparently Apple knows us best and we have to be force fed their proprietary crap.BeErBOnG29Apple used the same adaptor for the better part of a decade, in fact I believe it was standard before miniUSB ports were becoming popular. I'm baffled by how much bad press Apple is getting for making something smaller and easier to use. Yes it makes some of your add-ons require an adaptor, but give companies a few months and everything will support the new connector.
It's a non-issue. You completely missed the point. The point is since they don't use an industry standard they should stick to a single standard. At the VERY least, they should have included at least one adapter with the purchase of the 5. Right now, it just looks like a huge cash grab. $30 for a part that cost ~$2 (if that) to make. I love my margins. It's great that they want to make something smaller. If so, conform to the industry standard of miniUSB. Some of our add-ons? It makes it so ALL of our add-ons need an adapter. I have extra chargers (one for work, one for home), car charger, etc. I will either have to rebuy these or pay for additional adapters. I really feel bad for the people who have docks and the like. Sorry, but Apple receives all the negative press about this because they deserve it. Plain and simple. Now you're just nitpicking, Sir. You only need one adapter. You don't need to buy a separate adapter PER accessory.
The ITC ruled it out already. Pretty done case. Gambler, you aren't even an Apple user. You're clearly in the Android camp, just here trolling whatever you can find to put your anti-apple spin on everything. You don't have any grounds to suggest what should or shouldn't be posted in the Apple Forum. And why is this a thread here?? This is not a significant thing it's just the preliminary review of the patents. It should simply be posted in the existing apple vs samsung thread.

[QUOTE="musicalmac"][QUOTE="NVIDIATI"]This forum is useless. It is mobile SW. None of the iOS forumites care about Android, which is why the Google forum is so peaceful. And WinMo8 isn't worth anyone's time yet because it's smaller than RIM. I'm afraid I have to be be tougher. It's time to draw the line between legitimate, thoughtful posts and obvious trolling attempts. Tougher how? The pendulum swings both ways. You should probably leave Gambler alone. At least he gives the other side to uninformed readers. It sort of balances itself out with some of the diehard fanboyism shown by a few members here. This is the board for Apple users. Much like how there is a board for Wii owners, 360 owners, and PS3 owners. You don't see PS3 owners getting away with going into the 360 forums to "re-educate" the blind microsoft fanboyism going on. Thats what the respective boards are for: congregating among other users of the assigned platform. Android users needn't be here just to state their obvious disdain for everything Apple related. I'm not asking for a ban for anyone, I'm asking mods to do their job and treat the Apple forum the same way every other platform specific board is regulated: keeping the trolls out.My apologies that there aren't as many extreme Apple fans such as yourself, but don't disrespect those who come here for discussion with a meaningful purpose.
Take BeErBOnG29 for example, he's obviously a fan of Apple and came to this thread to talk about the likes/dislikes of the iPhone 5.
Instead of creating discussion, his comments get brushed off. Why is that?
Why do you only believe that this thread is for Apple users? Some sort of discrimination? No other board is like this.
There happens to be a temporary Windows Phone 8 and RT discussion thread on the Android board at the moment and everyone gets along just fine. Amazing how reasonable people can be, then again you would just assume everyone hates Apple, etc. etc.
Normally I'd inform you it is wise to ignore trolls, but based on your history, I highly doubt you give a ****.
Once again, SW is the place for cross-platform discussion, users should be directed there.

[QUOTE="Kid-Atari"]Mods, does Gamblers post count as forum invasion? This article had no reference, relevance nor mention of Android here. The entire forum already knows his stance on Apple, that he owns an Android device, and generally is just here to spin a negative angle on every Apple related article.BeErBOnG29Gotta love how you completely ignored and bypassed my points because you couldn't refute them. Typical I suppose.
I think it's important to note that people who criticize the connector probably don't understand how little it's used for actual data transfer. I have never plugged my iPhone into my computer. It's really a very tiny, very efficient charching port.musicalmacIt's not about data transfer (though it's slow on that regard as well). Your reaction was to marginalize every single aspect of what makes the iPhone 5 a "new" iPhone. It's incredulous to say that doubling raw horse power and graphical ability in the span of one year is "expected as an upgrade." There's no point having a discussion with someone who obviously carries cynicism in great strides and dispenses such with a false sense of pride
