Oh, God. Not this clown. What's he going to do, announce GT5 for 2011 and the PS3 slim for $500? I wouldn't be surprised.

Knowing Sony, if there even IS, a PS3 slim, it'll be priced at $500, with no price drop for the phat.

[QUOTE="TheOldOlder"][QUOTE="navyguy21"] Well he is right, but that still isnt a good situation to be in. Keeping the price high, although the best solution for them, sacrifices hardware sales, which has a direct effect on software sales. And thats where console makers make the vast majority of their money. Right now, sony doesnt have either on their side. navyguy21
Time my Friend sony needs more time to Drop the price and reduce production costs in order to turn profit from each Ps3 sold

Agreed, they will be fine. I just hope they learn the lessons of this gen. I still dont think theyve learned enough with the whole "only possible on PS3" crap at E3, they need to lose that, and start to back up their claims. They need to stay quiet, under promise, and OVER deliver, not the other way around. Announcing games to early allows hype to die out, which affects sales, i think thats what happend with Killzone 2. But yea, time will help them, the brand name is still strong, a price cut and some high profile exclusives (im not talkin about Uncharted, Resistance, and Ratchet, because truth is, very little people outside of gaming forums know about those) They need GT5 out now, more oddworld, more legacy of kain, more games that bring people to the platform. Same goes for MS.

Trust me, they won't. And no matter how much the economy improves, Sony will NOT drop the price, regardless of how far they fall behind.

LOL. It's sad that Sony has to hang their hat on THIS while Nintendo sells 25k in a matter of days.

It'll probably be released on Wii and 360, but not PS3. I think developers (like Activision) are finally starting to wise up and realize that it's just not profitable to develop for the PS3.

[QUOTE="Amster_G"]

Basically confirmed = not confirmed.

And if Sony is truly releasing a Slim at $399.99, they've jumped aboard the failboat to fail island.

Dragonspear2462

Well......like you said it's still not confirmed sooo... and Sony is not that dumb to release another system with the same price...

They're dumb enough to release the PSP Go with ONE analog nub. They're dumb enoughto remove BC from the PS3.

At this point, I wouldn't put anything beyond them.

[QUOTE="mr_poodles123"]At 300 euros, that is around 400 american.Doolz2024
No way it'll be $400 in the US. Why would Sony have 2 $400 PS3's on the market? It'll cost $300, most likely.

Because they're Sony.

Nintendo is Nintendo (industry leader and innovator).

Microsoft is now Sony.

Sony is now Sega.

WOW gatta love the fanboy post. Nintendo did bad with the 64 and GC and they are still around. People who think like TC want sony to fail and wanting a gaming company to fail makes you a joke of a gamer.

finalfantasy94

Again, Nintendo made profits with the 64 and GC. Even though they didn't finish first, they still didn't lose money on those consoles like Sony has with the PS3.

And I don't want Sony to fail. I just think it's inevitable. It's not fanboyism, it's objectivity.

[QUOTE="ActicEdge"]

Nintendo got there ass handed to by Sony for a decade and now they are on top with a plan everyone thought would fail. Anything is possible and nothing is certain. Also, enough with all these PS3 doom/sales thread. I love good sales talk but this garbage is getting old fast. I wish we could get some semi neutral posters to put up sales info.

mazdero

While I do not agree with the TC at all, there is a big difference between Sony and Nintendo. Sony is losing money this gen, Nintendo still made money during those gens they got beat up by Sony(not sure about the N64 era, but I think they still came out ahead there). Thats why they were able to stick around long enough to stick it to Sony and MS this Gen.

Exactly. That's why I'm unsure that Sony will even be around next gen. They've lost boatloads of money. Even Nintendo made SOME money from the GC.
