i dont visit these forums hardly at all, but this is one of the most mature threads ive read in a long time.

personally, i dont like metal that much. in MY opinion (yes i realize, only MY opinion) i feel like metal usually has a very loud, emotionless sound to it. a lot of bands tend to emphasize speed in their solos. and i just dont feel the vibe from this genre. there are maybe a few songs of the sort that i do like, i cant name them off tho.

however, i am an amateur guitarrist, and while i dont admire the genre that much, i will say with full confidence that metal is most probably the hardest material to play on a guitar. some soloists play at blazing speeds that i can only dream of playing (at least due to my late start..maybe). techniques like tapping come to mind that blow me away.

the kind of music i LOVE to listen to does involve some heavy stuff. my 2 favorite artists are RHCP and hendrix. hendrix was just a god, i dont have to explain anything about him, everyone already knows. as for the peppers, i love funk and the rhythyms associated with it, and the style that RHCP plays inspired me to pick up a guitar and really put in the time and effort to play material like theirs.

i realize i might seem like i have a very shallow mind when it comes to musical tastes, and that is partly right. mainly ive fallen prey to the problem where i love those 2 bands so much that i am both lazy and unwilling to try and expand what other artists to listen to. they come very slowly and it takes me some time to fully imbibe another band's style.

hope no one finds that this is too much to read :)

I agreed with everything, except it being the hardest form of Guitar playing. Classical guitar is more difficult, in my opinion, and a slow piece in Classical guitar music can be very difficult, too.

ah yea you're right. classical guitar completely skipped my mind but you're right, the finger picking style associated with it is definitely no walk in the park.

Clearly, good sir, you have never heard Funeral Doom Metal... some of the slowest music around...

well i shall not object. i did afterall admit i dont have a very wide range of musical tastes, so i tip my hat to you good sir.

(i love talking in old english)

well everyone has their own tastes. i used to love only rap, but when i was finally hooked on to rock i started to realize the higher and more complex level of expression u get when u combine a great drummer bassist and guitarrist as well as other awsome instruments, instead of sampling a beat over and over.

however, hip hop DEFINITELY has its moments. older hip hop material is definitely a lot better and more stylish and creative. these days, it feels like all rap songs are turning to crunk and i hate that kind of stuff. bragging about ur lifestyle that profusely is just obnoxious and annoying.

i like mos def, talib kweli, jay z, and some more recent stuff like ludacris and whatnot. i was into all of the major artists, but its starting to flow now. i feel like rap is dead nowadays.

I've been around these boards awhile, and that while some would be like  others would be like :|

So how would you categorize your sense of humor?

Ironic - you laugh at things that are taken seriously, like bad acting in movies and ironic things in general(big example: you think Chuck Norris is hilarious)

Twisted - you find comedy in other people's misfortune, etc.

Regular - you laugh at jokes that are straightforward, and don'tfind things that are suppose to be serious funny (you don'tthink Chuck Norris is funny, you think he is a hack)

Toliet - you laugh at farts, and other bodily functions such as when the word "diahrea" is said

Perverted - you know who you are

Arbitrary - you just laugh at random things that are done/said. A good example is you find Conan O' Brien funny

Dry - you like shows like the Office

Sarcastic - kind of similar to ironic humor, but with a negative connotation

so what are you? If you have a combination, just but which ones you are :)

skullkrusher13

i laugh at all sorts of humor like all of the above, but the most for me are dry, arbitrary, and perverted (altho perverted less now as its what constitutes the billions of cheesy comedies that come out nowadays)

even tho this is an offtopic forum i do feel silly asking a gaming website for a music tab...

still, ive tried to google a piano tab for the song movin cool (afterparty) by outkast and i cant find one. is it possible by any 1 in a million chance that someone knows either where one is or is someone who is very musically talented able to at least transpose the chords for me???

ive also tried to find just the whole piano book of that album, "big boi and dre present....outkast", but i cant find it either.

id appreciate anybodys help, especially if they're willing ot transpose it :)

i think its worth it by a mile. idk how the full game will be but i have a blast playing the demo at my friends house (i dont have a 360). considering it comes with a beta version of possibly one of the most important video games of all time, $60 bucks seems a bargain in MY opinion.
