[QUOTE="hongkingkong"][QUOTE="L1qu1dSword"][QUOTE="hongkingkong"][QUOTE="L1qu1dSword"][QUOTE="hongkingkong"][QUOTE="L1qu1dSword"][QUOTE="hongkingkong"]MGO is a seperate game, you can't diss mgs4 because of MGO, plus MGO is good :?L1qu1dSword
how is it a seperate game?!? its just the games multiplayer with its own name. lol.
It is a seperate game that came free with mgs4 package, you get the option to leave MGO to a game called "Metal Gear Solid 4" from the MGO screen, it is on the same disc yet it is not part of MGS4.So all you need is a seperate name and screen and developers can pass their multiplayer off as another whole game? Wow MGS4 is like two whole games for the price of one! I am amazed anyone, even fanboys, fall for that. That was just yet another attempt by Konami to distance the game from its awful multiplayer.
Yeah it was intended as a bonus, an add-on if you will, a great package with loads of extras. You are seeing my point.
Just because every two bit knock off game has an even cheaper p2p multiplayer, doesn't mean Kojima said from the start "MGS4 should have a multiplayer mode for replay value!!!!" , no no no no.... MGS4 is the replay value, drebin points keep you coming back for more and more. MGO is not built into the design of MGS4 such that it needs its existance to complete the game, its what you might call a 'spin-off' with casual references to MGS4.
Dude that is complete nonsense! Besides being given a different name( im not even counting that it has a seperate screen because I find most multiplayer modes do anyways) and a horrible account creation process, what exactly differentiates this from any other multiplayer mode? That's it! It's a seperate mode given a new name as if it was a different game altogether.
I agree with your analogy only because I found both "Friends" and "Joey" to be terrible.
You can only enjoy Joey if you enjoyed Friends, potentailly, liking friends doesn't make you like Joey (it saturates the "Joey moments" and looses its magic after a while).... what i'm saying is ..... DUURRRR you have to like Metal Gear Solid in the first place.... thats the point of the game!!!! ITS FAN SERVICE. This is the final chapter of the series, fans have played these games for 20 years and this is the conclusion. If you know the story you'll want to see the ending, if you like the old games you'll love this one....
Maybe you were expecting something different, a run-of-the-mill xbox shooter with online as standard and a single player that bears no relevance to anything other than a plot forgedin the 1980s by a terrible B movie and re-used to death in every video game ever since , i am of course talking about the "Grizzled Space Marine with a haunting past and is totally kick-ass at killing aliens or communists".
Well thats not Metal Gear Solid 4. I can't help you if that was what you are looking for, stop complaining and buy Gears of War or Halo 3 or Turok or any other game that fits that description and stop attacking the one sanctuary us gamers have as a game with shooting in it without a 7 foot tall roided all-american communist slapper being strongly silent andas interesting as socks drying.
Fair enough. Good post btw.
Personally though I dont think fan service should be a ten. As far as the multiplayer goes the story does not matter. It should be fun to just about anyone but even the fans admit they dont like it.
Yeah, but most of the hardcore MGS fans did not buy it for the multiplayer to begin with. I myself like it, but I could do without it since it feels like just another shooter to me. Not a big fan of online shooters, it's not why I bought it to begin with.
