@TheEroica: Right on. You just got it on the list 😁

@TheEroica: Short of a couple minutes on a Walmart kiosk, I've never played any Metal Gear. They definitely seem like quality, but I've just never really cared for stealth games. I think revengance is more action though, right? Might be about time to give one a shot.
@TheEroica: Geeze, that's a lot. Any standouts that you loved? I wish I could play Vanquish and Subnautica for the first time again.
@mrbojangles25: Steam the place that your boy gaben holds over 80% of ALL SALES on the pc market.
Has nothing to do with where you get the parts to build your frankenstein pc.
Yes Steam is a monopoly on pc, but, but good monopoly am i right 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Curious as to your solution? Certainly there are other digital storefronts operating and providing services for customers. Consumers have chosen to use steam as a home to their pc games.... What is your plan for changing that? You want to punish Valve by breaking up their business while there are ten other services waiting in the wings operating the exact same business? How does that work?
Physical sales? I didn't choose Steam over physical; they chose for me. I know it's not coming back, but buying physical (with the game actually on the disc) and it having a Steam code in the box for backup purposes would be nice. Why aren't the pro-consumer/"options are good" crowd clamoring for this?
Just out of curiosity, what percentage of your Steam library will never be played again? If it's anything like mine, it's about 95%.
So then the physical sale breaks the "monopoly" for you? Meaning, as long as a physical product is available along with a half dozen other digital storefronts of various popularity you're cool with one of those storefronts having much bigger than the others?
I have always been a "play it once and done" gamer sans the rare exceptions. One reason tend to wait for value prices.
I'm less concerned with the "monopoly" aspect and more concerned with giving the few (big companies) more control. Like I said before, it's already dead and gone, but I would take a Software Etc or Babbage's over Steam any day. Again, I can't imagine physical coming back, but having the option to pick up a physical copy locally would be nice. But that would also require them to make new games that I actually want to play. Same with movie rental stores. I would love for them to come back, but if it was only filled with the modern crap we already have, it wouldn't matter.
I rarely replay games either, but with as little as I like modern gaming, it's looking like my only option. That being said, their are a decent amount of old games that I've never played.

@Litchie: @last_lap: Another major thing I hate about the all digital future is their ability to manipulate/alter or remove the game at will. Now, I don't know how often this actually happens, but the possibility for them to remove a game that you bought and own is absolutely a reality. I really just don't want these companies to have more power and control than they already do.
That being said, most physical games don't even have the game on the disc; so the fight has already been lost. And for all for the pro-consumer/more options crowd, they should be screaming from the rooftops for the OPTION to have physical, and for the digital backup to be included.
Unless they make some crazy changes, I wouldn't get any of them. Last Gen was disappointing, and this Gen looks worse. So I can only imagine how little I'll care about next Gen. If anything, I'll probably just build a new PC and play old stuff. Haha, I never thought I would say that, but I can't stand modern... anything.
About two years.
I replayed subnautica a couple months ago, and before that was monkey Island 2 in early 2022. The last modern game I played was CoD in 2019. Technically I took turns playing the RE4 remake with a couple buddies one night when that came out.
