I would love if they did another companion game like they did with the first Space Marine. Last time they also put out the twin-stick shooter Kill Team, and I loved it. The story wasn't anything to write home about, but going for the high score on the leaderboards was a blast. Plus you got a weapon or two for Space Marine. I can't remember if they were any good, but I like the cross-promotion. I just really like when they bring an older property back, but also put out a throwback game for the old players. Like when they were gonna do that first person (I think) XCOM, but also put out the old school firaxis one. I was hoping they were going to do the same with Wolfenstein New Order. Put out the new big budget game, and an old style Wolfenstein, with some cool tweaks/improvements. Like how hard would it be for modern developers to make an old style Wolfenstein, at a $10-$20 price point? One week... Two?

I love point and click games, so Monkey Island is pretty high up there. Maniac Mansion was great too. I also had a great time with Metal Warriors on SNES.

I tried Kotor a while back, but just couldn't get into it. I'm sure it's great, but the world seemed a little hollow, and I was hoping the remake could add some density to the game. But who knows if that's ever coming out. I also wish the combat was my action based, and not that WoW timer combat. Still, I need to give it another try. Are there any cool mods that would improve the experience?

Battlefront 2. I didn't want to support that game or ea for multiple reasons, but got a star wars itch, and it was on sale for $7.50.

I still regret it.

@sargentd: Yeah I liked the first Dawn of War and the first Space Marine. I don't know if it holds up, but I kinda liked the old Chaos Gate as well. Eternal Crusade looked cool, but just didn't pan out. You're probably right that most of the duds were just subpar companies that made them. I liked Insurgency as well, so I hope this turns out well.

He's right.... And it's what many of us have been saying for a while now.

No doubt.

@lavamelon: I really don't see a need for most games to go beyond 360/PS3 graphics.

Especially when you see what it costs them to produce, and how often they fail. If everyone wants 60 fps consistently, wouldn't targeting 360/PS3 level graphics make that easier to accomplish?

What was that grappling hook nonsense? Definitely not a deal breaker, but c'mon. And there's something weird in what they showed with the mp. Like there was no impact from getting shot or something. Maybe the player (without the shield/forcefield) wasn't getting hit? I dunno.

Overall it looks pretty good. I hope it's good.

On a sidenote, why is it so hard to make a good Warhammer game? The property is so cool.

@sargentd: The single player for Smuggler's Run was so hard! I don't think I beat the first mission. The multiplayer in the other hand was a blast! My main launch games were Timesplitters, The Summoner, and Armored Core 2.

There were a couple games inspired by Desert/Jungle Strike that sort of peaked my interest. I think one was Megacopter or something.

Weird. I was literally thinking about this a day or two ago. Unfortunately, I don't think this is really worth it. The problem is that the game (at least the shooting) is/was pretty crap, at least for the first one. The main selling points were it's settings (time traveling through different eras), the humor, the challenges, and the map maker. Maybe they fixed the shooting in the sequels. I don't know.

All good stuff, but I doubt it really holds up. Seems like they should've done all the games, and drop them at the same time. Get that nostalgia push, and then drop a new game, with more modern shooting. And if they charge full price for this.... oof.

But now that I've said that, it will probably do really well 🤪

I think the original Demons Souls is amazing, and most of their games are top notch. Problem is, I get bored really fast, and then the diminishing returns set in. The last one I played was Bloodborne, and I'm still not really in the mood for another.

I was hoping Armored Core would be great, but I'm not so sure it was.
