Well its just under 3 hours before I have to give Steam more of cash. Can anyone predict what will be next. No prizes just the kudos of

  1. Being able to see the future or....
  2. Working for Steam.

My predictions are ...

Bioshock @ 75% off

Mirrors Edge @ 50% off

and Borderlands @25%

Just Bought the THQ pack.

Despite having already owned Stalker and COH it still represents stupendous value. I just have to stop buying more games until I have made serious inroads into this lot. I reckon there is a good 6 months of gaming here.

If you can afford this get it, especially if your in the UK it's only £26.50! that's just 60% the price of COD MW2.

[QUOTE="SF_KiLLaMaN"] #1 the best shooter of all time, Battlefield 2 RK-Mara
Wrong! Battlefield 1942 is.

Call me old school but for pure multiplayer shooter action Unreal Tournament or Quake III Arena would have something to say about that statement. Saying that some people would prefer Counterstrike though it a bit hardcore for my tastes. Anyways these are some games I have played and recommend that you pick up (in no particular order six of the best fairly modern games).

  1. The Orange Box (with HL2 + Portal + TF2). A good Mix of Fine Quality Games.
  2. Battlefield 2 - Still people play this 4 years on so it must be doing something good.
  3. Company of Heroes (FTS)
  4. Civilisation IV (Turn Based strategy - time evaporator)
  5. Quake Live - if you have internet connection this browser based version of Quake III is worth trying (perfect that rocket jump) and its free.
  6. Crysis - although it still can munch the average graphics card.

I guess this should be in the hardware section but here's my 2 cents.

With those sort of hardware specs I would not go overboard with spending money on a graphics card. Unless your wanting it to run on a gigantic monitor and have the psu to support it spend cheap. I would recommend a Radeon HD4670. Why? cause it will run on a good 350 Watt PUS does no require any additional power yet still seems to manage to run most games at high with a 22'' Monitor. The thing you will find at present is games have not moved on in recent times with there Minimum specs due having to cope with inferior consoles. As a result the $60 dollar graphics card is just the ticket.

Perhaps map the controller to control Steam? I have no idea how that would be done, but it'd be 10x easier then writing a new program.majoras_wrath
You Could use Xpadder or similar software to map your keyboard keys to buttons on the 360 Controller. This should work.

Thanks For the re-assurance SemperFi10,

I have bought it direct off steam so I just started to download it now. Look forward to putting some zombies out off their undead misery I like the look of that chainsaw action.

Well I did it. I've just purchaseLeft 4 Dead 2.

Some of my friends have got the game so I decided to take the plunge. I like many others was a bit reluctant to purchase this thinking that the Left 4 Dead 1 still had the legs to expand it to a more fully rounded game.

As anyone else bough tLeft 4 Dead 2if so is it considerably different from the first one to justify the full price? Or have I just wasted £30?

I have Mixed feelings about this one.

Although I welcome a PC version its still in essence a game designed for consoles. It's the Alchopop of the BF2 Series, I would look forward to the destructable environment but not so much the arcade like 'Wow' Headshot Graphics. Don't get me wrong I'm no super realism Arma II guy but the thing that made the BF series fun was the correct balance of realism. As a pc gamer the guy said nothing to reassure or worry me. Reading between the lines he said that the PC would be treated like another console with it percularites being addressed but no real different game. Also I sure Bullet drop was in BF2,maybe I'm wrong.

Anyway will I buy this? Not sure it depend when or if BF3 is released. Still Thanks for the post

For Gaming Yes.

But it not totally a bad thing. Recently I have becoming to realise that my PC is becoming a 'Steam Console'. With integrated chat/voice server, Steam Achievements and never having to change cd's it's sucking me in.I reckon I buy at least 70% of my games on steam (usually in there deals) and very little of the remainder in hard form PCs games.

The thing is with PC's if people realised that it is nearly as easy to play games (and more versitile) as a console less folk would spend money buying a console.
