Was Bush able to solely plunge the US into war? No. Was his administration responsible for it's preparation, push through congress, and execution? Yes.mfacek
Bush was captain of the ship. All failures fall on him. Funny how that works.

Bush started a war? Incredible how one man took control of Congress.

Congress has not declared war in over 50 years so your implication is moot.
[QUOTE="distort10n"]Govt 101...the president is not the boss.......He is a component in the Govt....We the People are the Boss.....Reading comprehension 101. I said the party is full of all types of idiots, not all.
Let's say Obama was lying. There is a time and a place for it to call him out on any lie. If I did that in a meeting with my boss I would have a one way ticket to the HR office.
For you to imply that this kind of behavior is ok is hilarious.

At least you acknowledge that you think this behavior is appropriate.
You do realize the United States is a Democratic Republic yes? Do me a favor and call the President and make it like you are his boss and tell him what to do. Let me know how that works for you.

Absolutely dispicable and rude behavior. I cannot even begin to explain how innapropiate shouting the word "liar" to the President of the United States during a joint speech to Congress is. He's already released an "apology" statement. This is getting out of hand. When are people, espcially those we elect to represent our states, going to start showing respect to the President?

It was Joe Wilson from South Carolina by the way.

There were people like you, on the other side, saying the exact same thing during Bush's presidency. And yet, most of the people on these forums thought he didn't deserve respect. There are now people who believe Obama does not deserve any respect. It's called opposition, and it's the foundation of a republic like ours, so deal with it. A lie is a lie. It doesn't matter who tells it, and it doesn't matter who points it out. Need I remind you, we pay Obama's salary. The president works for me. He works for you. He works for the American people, period. We do not work for him. I don't necessarily think Obama is a liar, but if I do think he is twisting the truth, I will not show deference by giving him a pass. Republicans all around the country have been targeted during speeches in the same way, by Democrats. I have no sympathy for your argument, and I'm not even a Republican.
Funny. Bush starts a war with no conscience to blow up brown people. No one ever had the audacity to stand up during a joint speech and yell "Liar!" or "Murderer!" That would be disrespectful.
Obama wants to overhaul healthcare to help millions of people in this country and yet you have a Republican fool who disrespects the President like a child.
A-MAZING!
[QUOTE="distort10n"]....you're right we're all racists....busted...No. Never. Race or ethnicity never came up during the campaign. I am a registered Republican and I wonder what the hell happened to my party. It is chock full of fundamentalists, racists, bigots, and morons.
Why?

No people are losing discipline and respect. When an officer tells you to do something, such as stay in your vehicle, STAY IN YOUR VEHICLE... if you knew how many criminals many police officers face all the timeimport_fighter1
It's a two way street. An individual often considers their situation when encountering police. Selfish? Perhaps, but many of the current situations that have sparked forum threads shows an ignorant innocence on part of the person involved. I do not believe for one minute that every time a person 'disobeys' a police officer is being outright disrespectful, it is the cognitive dissonance between their belief they did not do anything wrong while being yelled at or threatened with detainment. The person is trying to naively reason with the police officer and the officer needs to be able to discern this from someone who is just being a schmuck.
Police officers hold a position of power over the average citizen and need to be held to a higher standard of behavior and practice. When they fail, the consequences should be strict.
Both sides are full of BS and both sides have done horrible things. I don't see how anyone can suport either one.

It's pretty obvious that if you do not support Israel or criticize Israel then you are anti-semitic.
However you can't just ask millions of Israel citizens to just leave. Even though it was not aquired in a justified manner the fact that people have grown up there and lived their lives means its their's now. You can't just kick them out.IndigoSunrise
Yes but...
The problem is that Israel continues to build settlements and it is disingenuous for them to say, "Whoops, we live here now" when they have been asked to cease building. So it is easy to understand the Palestinian's frustration.
There is no doubt in my mind that Israel will continue to build settlements and it will get the point where they know they can argue "You cannot ask all of our citizens to leave!"
What's sad is that the Jewish people experienced a horror that no other group should ever have to face, but there is very little sympathy from Israel to the Palestinians. It's like "Hey, as long as it is not happening to me, it's OK."
Both sides need to STFU.IndigoSunrise
Also true. I cannot find the picture, but there is a picture showing a Palestinian soldier hiding behind a baby carriage and on the other side an Israeli soldier in front of a baby carriage. The implication is that the Palestinians are cowards and will use women and children as shields whereas the Israeli soldier is courageous.
What it does not tell you is that the Israeli soldier will shoot anyway. Both sides are wankers.
