@mprince131: Are you talking about live or the 360 because both the dreamcast and ps2 had online capabilities well before the 360. All it did was take the one good feature of the original xbox and improve it, but the 360 did dominate in sales, was not revolutionary in any way, and in the end was good but rather unimpressive console. I can broaden my mind, but maybe you can't.
The word dominate implies and all out defeat/win, its implies subjugation of all the competitors, which should include sales, If you have to start getting into nonsense like well sales were okay but.... then there is no domination.
Domination was the ps1, the nes/snes, the ps4. Those were/are dominating system.
The 360 while MS best console by a margin, and one that I did like, didn't dominate anything. Can we please check from now on to see if the gamespot writers and editors have a dictionary at hand so they can look up the meaning of words that they use in their articles.
Like someone else pointed out, the sales of the wii and ps3 were on par if not greater than the xbox, not to mention I would take either of their libraries over the xbox. The xbox had a few surprise outstanding titles like Lost Odyssey and Alan Wake, but it still felt like basically and fps and multi player console.
But yes its typical just like how they do with movies to focus only on the US while pretending the rest of the 70-80 percent of the world doesn't exist.
@origamibomber: It was that bad. The series overall is easily the low water point of the franchise, and it just a matter of which game in the trilogy you think is the worse.
@Xristophoros: There is still strategy in turn based or any rpg for that matter, you need to think plan your turns as much inturn based as you do in strategy ones, the only extra element in strategy games is that movement in addition to you actual "active" turn becomes important.
@GhoX: No what killed it was not being on a Sony console it was going to handhelds. Clearly the first game sold enough on the ps3 to warrant to sequels.
Also I feel like many people, myself included don't really count the pc. When we talk about exclusivity its about being exclusive on a console.
But I disagree with his comment about Reinssance, PlayStation has always had a lot of jrpgs and good ones at that, the ps3, vita, and psp were no exception.
Oh no, Halo 5, Scalebound etc. are only the xbox, and I have a ps4. Let me make some smart ass comment about piracy, oh wait I also own an xbox one.
seriously, exclusives have been around since the beginning of gaming, and without them there would be only one console. No point in having two choices if everything is on everything.
And MS can talk crap, its like screw buying an exclusive, we will just buy the company outright.
@barbarossa213: I can understand the pc but why the xbox? It doesn't sell enough in Japan to warrant a mention, and I imagine most xbox owners have a pc.
Why don't they just poll the people who actually plan to buy the game, ie polling the pre orders, instead making changes that they think some nebulous general public wants. If this offends someone who had no intention of getting the product, which I think is often the case, then so be it.
