Final Fantasy XIII, as confusing as it is at first, once you wrap your head around it it is a very interesting story. I am a little biased in that statement however as I am a sucker for stories like that.

I hate being right all the time.

GOVERN YOURSELF ACCORDINGLY.

I laughed when he said that he hates being right, if everything you did was right, you would not have been disbarred...what you did was wrong

This guy has been in the business a long time. He was developing games on the PS1 before most of you were probably born so when this guy talks, it would be best to listen. Read the entire interview, this man knows EXACTLY what he is talking about.

They won't update their engine, it will eat into their development cycle and potentially cause development time to exceed the 2 years they get

It was great for its time due to the lack of really high quality games at the time and the game being quite deep, however now that standards have changed and technology has advanced, it has not aged particularly well, so yes in the past it was a quality game...now however, it is not

Of course devs care about how many people can play their game, more people = more sales. Developers are not just mindless drones, they have families that they need to feed and lives to live so they need to do whatever they can to make good money to achieve that. And before you say stuff like developers make a crap load of cash like those who work on Call of Duty, the low level employees like the basic programmers do not make the millions of dollars. What you probably over look is that developers are most likely trying to achieve this goal AND trying to cater to the ones who made their game popular, it is probably just very difficult so some compromises must be made

If you need me to answer that, it may be your first time here.

Seriously you think that guy is a new member.

It was actually meant to be sarcasm, as he should know that COD hate is all over SW. I do recognize the fail that was brought by my comment and your facepalm picture is not enough, the Riker-Picard double facepalm would be more fitting

I really wish devs would actually take advantage of the PC and not just make all three versions or four if Wii is involved terrible.

I will start.

Dragon Age

Crysis (its looking like it, but have to wait to see how bad the SP is)

Deux Ex (Invisible War) I wish that game was invisible.

COD 1-2 good, then the wheels fell off and careened off of a cliff.

Elderscrolls series. Remember Morrowind? It became mainstream andnow look at the series.

Rainbow Six. It used to be a tactical game where using your brian was required. Now the tutorial is just every single Rambo movie.

Feel free to add any other games, and will update the list.

Fizzman
Dragon Age, as a franchise has not been destroyed by consolization, its only the 2nd game of the franchise and both have been on consoles. The series has been consolized from the beginning, however what you could say is the PC version is different due to consolization, not destroyed. Crysis has the potential to be simplified due to consolization, never played it so I cant say much on the subject. Deus Ex, same as Crysis COD has indeed taken a dramatic turn since it made its way to consoles I dont understand how Elder Scrolls is any different now, they have always had huge open worlds to explore, side quests to do and vistas to see To be fair, my opinion is going to be different then most since I really dont care about PC games being "consolized". If the game is still enjoyable, I will play it (i wont let a few changes alter my perception of a potentially good game)
