Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the cards in the mail?Agrzybianek

They come via email. Also, click on the Bing box inthe tool bar that shows your opints, andyou get a few extra links to click on for more points. These change every Sunday.

Do you get 100 free MS points each every few weeks or just 100 once ?

Tsuyoi94

You get 250 for signing up, and then a random number based on the number of searches you do during the day. They'll also have weekly searches that are worth more - those change every sunday.

As it is now, you can get ~60 points/day with the Bing toolbar. This is about 100MS Points every 2 days. The downside is that you can only order 30 MS Point cards per account. The MS Point codes arrive via email.

I also recommend checking out swagbucks.com. You get "swagbucks" for searching too, but you also get swagbucks for watching videos, doing polls, surveys, etc. Use the swagbucks to purchase $5 Amazon cards. Then purchase your MS Points from Amazon. I max out at 5 $5 Amazon cards/month.

Doing that, in addition to the Bing toolbar gets me pretty much all the MS Points I need.

How are you getting 60 points per day? Minus the offers that reset every sunday and can only be done once per week only add 30. Im getting 20 a day through the 2 searches for 1 point up to 20 points per day.

Is there some other way to earn points?

also how are u geting 1 point per 2 serches for me its 5 searches for 1 point wtf

It appears to be random. For some it is 1 in 2 searches. For me, it is 1 in 5. If I understand correctly, it randomizes on Sunday so it will be something different.

You're right. I guess I did the special offers on Saturday and then they reset the next day on Sunday, so I just assumed they were daily. So now it looks like you get a max of 16/day, and then 48 on Sunday for a max of 160/week. That's not too bad. Unfortunately, there appears to be a max of 30 prize redemptions for the ms points card.

By signing up and installing the Bing toolbar (IE Only!?!), you get 250 points. For now, you get 1 point for every 5 searches up to 16 points a day. If you click on the button with your Bing Points in the toolbar, you gain access to additional offers that you can do for more points. Today, there are a couple of searches for the founder of turkey and fall foliage. Those are good for almost 50 more points.

I've been using Swagbucks.com since the first of the year. It also gives you points for searching, but also gives points for watching videos, doing polls, surveys, finding random codes, etc. I net $25 worth of Amazon giftcards each month, and then purchase 1600 ms point cards for $20. It's worth checking out if you are looking to get some ms points.

-You can also purchase MS Points with Swagbucks, but it's not worth it. They go for 4000 SwagBucks for a 1600 MS Point card. It's better to get 4 $5 Amazon cards for 1800SB and then buy the MS Point card through Amazon for $20.

Am I out of luck, or is there anything I can do about this? Worth trying to repair it professionally?

Thanks for any advice.

nofo04

Microsoft will repair it in about 4 weeks for $99 with it being out of warranty. You could also check with places that sell games locally and get a referral to someone who can do the repairs quicker, but probably at the same price point.

My recommendation? Sell it on Craigslist with cables/controllers, etc. for $100 - make sure you disclose that it has the RROD. Someone out there will be willing to buy it and fix it. Take the $100 and put it towards an XBOX slim.

yeah i signed up. Theres no real reason not to get free points. MS has been giving away points with that Bing reward program too.

Gen007

Is the Bing Rewards worth the effort? How many points do you average in a month? If it takes a year to get enough points, then that's not worth it.
