Get a Slim. If you want to play PS2 games, you can pick up a PS2 at GameStop for $40. Plus, like people above me have said, there's a chance it will YLOD again after they fix it. As far as prevention goes, make sure that your PS3 is well ventilated. Also, make sure that if you are putting your PS3 in a TV stand, there is enough space for the hot air coming out of the rear to go out. You wouldn't want your PS3 to take in that hot air again.
How long have you owned your ps3 slim and has it ever overheated/froze? My ps3 freezes almost every single time I play it. I play it anywhere from 2-4 hours at times, but somtimes it freezes when I've been playing it for only 1 hour or less. It has frozen about 10-15 times in a period of less than 1 month.

Is there a specific game it freezes on? That shouldn't be happening.
As far as I know, amazon only buys games, so you're going to have to sell it independently on there. Like I said before, Craigslist is probably your best option. It's free and there's alota people willing to buy a PS3 during Christmas.
When I go to check my gamer's card, I noticed my level is still at 1% at level 12. I am playing through a few gamesduring the lastfew days and gotten a number of trophies (brozens and silvers), but every time I go to check my gamer's card I am still at 1% for three days now.
I downloaded firmware 3.15 and started to noticed something was different w/gamer's card; the older firmware didn't act up.
Anyone having the same strange problem?

Your level 12. It's going to take alot more trophies to level up. It's not a problem, it's part of the leveling curve.
