I remember reading that the 3 beeps mean that the system is being turned off while it's still busy doing something, or something like that. It usually happen after a freeze and I don't think it's anything too serious.
I just got my 80GB PS3 for Christmas and so far I've had a lot of fun with it. I got the game with Motorstorm and CoD4, and after playing the demo of Uncharted I decided to rent the game. So far the game has been extremely good and the graphics look amazing even on my SDTV.
The game disc was kinda dirty when I first got it and during the opening chapter the ps3 was making really loud loading sounds, but I cleaned the disc and it fixed the problem. It only froze at one point after that when I fell off a cliff and died. The game has been running fine since then until what happened tonight.
I was playing through chapter 18 and suddenly the sound just completely cut off. This happened shortly after Nate enters the area where he turns his flashlight on. I waited a bit and the sound wasn't coming back on so I held down the PS button and quit the game. Then the PS3 froze while it was on the Please Wait... screen after you exit a game. After that, the system made 3 beeps and reset itself automatically.
This is the first time the system has reset itself without me manually doing so. I've gotten the 3 beeps before after freezing when playing Motorstorm online and being on the web browser, but this is the first time it's reset without me having to do it manually.
Basically what I want to know is if this is normal and if anybody else has had this problem, or if there's something wrong with the game/system. Thanks.
