At TC I disagree. One of my fave SP experiences across all consoles to date. GTA's best campaign by a long shot. You're silly. A game so good I've bought it four times (two PS3 versions and two PS4 versions). As a matter of fact when the Splatfest ends in Splatoon 2 here in aboot a half hour I'm gonna pop it in <3

Did you finger the actual console up? Did it feel like $599 CDN? Power button? Did you eject a disk and stick it back in? Smoothe? What does the console taste like?
Switch games I own...
BotW
SFII
MK8
Splatoon 2 (x2) lol.
So, the night Splatoon 2 came out, as did legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Go. I was deep into turf war, but got the call that Articuno was spotted 30km down the #1. I logged out, told the wife what I was up to and took off. Keep in mind, I owned the first for WiiU and played countless hours- she never batted an eyelash. After watching a couple hours of me playing turf war, she thought "I'll give it a try" and sure enough, I got home 90-120 mins later and she is hooked. After a couple days of us trying to share Switch time, my gorgeous little trophy wife insists she needs to get her own Switch and a day later (I have EB connections) we managed to scrape another one out of a delivery of 2 systems. It's so good, and addictive. Now we play together online all the time, and bonus- the wife is a Splatoon prodigy!! A few days in and she almost always is second (to my 1st) and occasionally beats me in turf war. More often than not we place 1 & 2 in turf war, so it rarely let's us play on same team in same room but the point of the story is... When I brought the Switch home on launch day, BotW convinced her (as we couldn't share) that I had to grab her the WiiU version so we weren't forced to share hours... but it was Splatoon 2 that convinced the wife to buy Switch #2 and a second copy of Splatoon2. Is it "second best" is a debatable question, but it's the other end of the spectrum. Don't sleep on Splatoon2 :)
Jon and Daenerys gonna be the new bro-sis love connection on the iron throne. And in the Game of Thrones you win or you die, so everybody else dies and that's that.
What you also have to factor in MSRP is R&D costs. While your average console is just a plastic box wrapped around some hardware, the Switch took just a little more thought to design and develop.
Take the Lexus LFA for example, Toyota lost money on every single one sold and it was priced well over its closest competition. They had to charge as much as they did because it cost so much to design and create.
The design of the Switch is genius from every angle, and every possible setup combination. It's solid in the hand, feels like it's worth the price whether you're in handheld or have it docked with a Pro in your hands.
Every handheld predating the Switch is susceptible to needing replacement if you kill the sticks/buttons/dpad etc, and even if you're careful like me some games (Mario party, Smash Bros etc) can be very hard on the input points. Kill a Switch stick/buttons, slap on new Joycon and it's like brand new. IMO Nintendo put more thought in designing the Switch than every console from every manufacturer, handhelds included, predating it.
That would be like shooting themselves in the foot, while their foot is in their mouth. Especially since people still beleive that shortages are fake news- which is about as sane as believing that the world is flat. A few days after Splatoon launched it took a lot of searching to find a retailer that had ONE (more) system for me to purchase. Had a few "aww, just sold our last one" answers, and the EB Games that did receive two systems (unpacking them during our phone call) had already sold one of two on my wife's five minute drive down there. Jacking the price up to deliberately slow sales is ridiculous.
The only con I have is the oversight on having a charge light actually on the controller. Weird thing to forget. Also, why didn't they just make it the "X" button that is lit anyways, that works in same fashion? Other than that it's quite exquisite.
My top 3 controllers of all time are...
1) XBone Elite
2) Switch Pro
3) no matter what I put for #3 it's gonna be wrong but the 3 I spent way too long debating were GCN/SNES/pair of Joycon
Either way in my opinion M$ previous entries wouldn't have come close to top 5, but the combo of an Elite Controller and an XBoneX has me very excited for Nov 7. I just kinda wanna take mine apart and stick the colored buttons from stock XBone in there, it would help me a great deal as I have spent by far more time on Nintendo's ABXY (I'm 37 so my mind has been conditioned since SNES).
Haven't tried SP or Salmon Run yet. Straight turf war so far trying to achieve better weapons. So much fun. Funny how I played the hell out of the first one- wife didn't seem interested at all. On night three of owning #2 I had logged out to go do a couple Legendary raids in Pokémon Go with some friends and while I was out the wife decided to play a few rounds as she has been watching me play, I came home she was a couple hours in and hooked! After a couple days of us trying to share Splatoon time she caved and we got her her own Switch and another copy of Splatoon2. Nintendo has managed to get my wife addicted to an online shooter. That says a lot :)
