Like I have said before, the EGS is some kind of expo where the companies show games but is not like the E3, this is open and directed to the public, the price to enter is $200 pesos inUS currencythats like 20 dollars, a little bit expensive but anyway, and if you bought a game and show the voucher they give you a VIP pass to acces to the special stands of Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft.
I went the last saturday, I get there a little late so there wasnt a big line to enter, but inside it was full, the first stand I visited was from a mexican videogame magazine, Atomix, by the wayI know one of the editors, the one in charge of writing in the Sony section, in the stand they were carrying on a Mario Strickers Charged tournament, I entered but I lose in the first match versus a kid like 9 or 10 years old, dont blame I dont have that game. Then I give a tour around the stands to see what I could find, there were Ubisoft, Namco, EA, Activision, Sega,Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, so after watch the games I decided wich I wanted to play and try to get to them, the lines to play the games were obscene, but these are the games I could play and my impresions:
Assasins creed: The time I played it was really short so I only can say the graphics look really good (like if somebody didnt know that), the controls are fine and it feels a lot like prince of persia, when you kill somebody some wierd stuff appears but I dont know what does that mean. To watch a short video of a kill look at this video I take, doesnt have sound because I recorded it with a photographic digital camera.
Naruto rise of a ninja: The second game I played was this, but I didnt played it in the main story mode but in the fighting mode, I like clash of ninja in gamecube and is similar, but the way you perform a jutsu is different from the gamecube game, first you should press both triggers and with the two sticks you should perform a secuence, then three linesappear and you must release the triggers when another line touch one of the three lines, just like a rythm game, each line is a power level, so if you release the triggers in the first for example the Sharingan just can be used five times, in contrast if you reached to the last the sharingan stays all the round, the jutsus can fail if you dont hit any line and you are vulnerable when trying to perform one so its not that easy, I liked it and I can confess that I returned later to play it again. Here is a video of rock lee being bad with Gaara.
Super Mario Galaxy: To play this game was a long line, the version I played there was a demo programed to play 10 minutes so imagine if in front of you there was just 7 persons you should wait more than 1 hour, and when you are playing the game feels short, anyway, the game feels like any other super mario in 3D, thats good because I could feel so natural the game, there was a guy who told the people how to play it and that was uncomfortable because I knew how to play with just watch the game but Im not giving as a fact that everybody knows how to play, and I swear I wish somebody could explain me the controls of soul calibur legends, back to Mario, if you played Super Mario 64 and sunshine it is very similar in control the only difrent thing is that you can spin the wii remote to make Mario spin, this movement seems to be very important in this game just as flood was in sunshine, it can be used to attack, spin some stars to get shooted by them like a cannon, throw things, and I supose another functions, the demo allows you to play in 5 or 6 diffrent stages, all of them are so great, at first I tought the game would feel like playing watching the tv headsdown but no it feels intuitive and not that confusing, the worlds are really fun and I like how the gravity makes everything so wierd, I dont know if is just the demo but Marios life was only three and is usually 8 whatever I just died once, the world I played was a boss stage called Megaleg, is some kind of giant robot with three legs, the boss was showed before so maybe you know it, the way to beat him is based in the gravity and it with the bullet bills it shoot, really funny, the game I suppose is gonna be good, maybe Im gonna buy it. I take two videos of the gameplay, not played by me (cant take videos while playing) first Mario grabing starswith the wiimote(look how appears two cursors), second Mario fighting a big octopus in a donut planet.
Soul Calibur Legends: I played this one for a short time too and nobody tell me what to do so I had to descover the functions of the control, the demo had four characters (too bad Lloyd wasnt playable), Ivy, Sigfried, Sophitia and Astaroth, you must chose two of them, I played with Sigfried and Sophitia, is posible to change between the two characters you choose in game, perform soul charge, block, jump, etc, and the game is based in pass some halls filled with traps and fight as you could imagine each chaacter has diffent status so Sigfied is strong good for fighting but is a little slow, Sophitia is fast but weak, the graphics are a little bad and looks like a PS2 game or worst but is fun, I think Rygar would be better. I take two videos of the game played by the guy before me in the line but I will put one, take a lot of time to upload. Here it is.
Guitar hero 3: Legends of rock: What could I say about this game, is guitar hero and its fun, the only thing I can say is that I liked it a lot and return to play it like 3 times.
Mario and Sonic at the olympic games: Another game I played for a really short time, I played two events shooting to ceramic dishes and 100 straight meters race, the game is fun but is more like mario party a game to play with somebody else in a sunday or something. A video of a swiming race.
Rock band: I just played one song and I choose guitar, I should choose battery, the guita is similar to not say the same as guita hero, funny game, I didnt take any video.
I wish I could play Links crossbow training, Call of duty 4, NIGHTSbut I couldnt, lack of time, some games aimed for kids I didnt play because they will be horrible were, Alvin and the chipmunks (who was the creator of such a bad idea), Bee movie, one Donkey Kong racing game, and thats all I can remmember.
