Thank you for this.

This mini game was brutal without a guide. Genuinely curious if strategy game afficionados found it fun and straightforward.

Solution: Use set up number 4 with Cloud and Barret.

I spent several hours playing through these 4 missions, and the only reward I felt was the thought of "I'm so glad it's over, please no more." I'm so glad that I can get back to the main game now, which I'm absolutely in love with. Won it quickly the first time once I switched to set up number 4 with Cloud and Barrett.

Nothing about my experience inclined me to think that would be a better solution. It didn't feel like I was making any progress through my repeated attempts. It didn't feel like I was learning much. I was throwing duke nukems at the wall and seeing what would stick. I got a little better at throwing sticky turds, but the wall wasn't giving me any hints about where the solution was. Maybe that's just because I don't gravitate towards this type of gameplay. Just like I don't gravitate towards stealth missions. Ever. They are not fun... for me. One sec, gotta wash my hands after all that throwing. It's all over my keyboard too. Keyboard cleaner isn't doing the trick, so I'll try a wet cloth... . . . . Now there is thin brown liquid sinking into the bottom of my keys. It doesn't smell so good, but it could be worse. I wonder if I could use this keyboard cleaner to get high.

The combat in this game is incredibly deep and intuitive. This mini game made me trip on my long old sagging balls and it wasn't pleasant. Fortunately, it is completely optional, so no foul was made.

I'm a person who enjoys mild puzzles like what Zelda offers but I feel miserable playing strategy games or intense puzzle games like "The Witness." I'd spent several hours on this Fort Condor mini game and had an unpleasant time with it. Just glad it's over.... I hope it's over.

Long story short: The difficulty level of these Fort Condor missions should have been an optional hard mode. It can be fun figuring out strategies to overcome challenges like this, but not when you give the player a losing hand right off the bat and throw in additional handicaps on top of it. If there was some sort of upgrade system between each attempt in the vein of rogue-lights like Rogue Legacy I would have been fully on board and I would have had a blast. Instead I'm here feeling like like I'm a dumbass... With a foul stench on my hands.

I loved this DLC and it seems fans of FF7R loved it as well. It blew me away and exceeded my expectations just like FF7R did. It feels like the series is really returning to form.

@jenovaschilld: You'll probably enjoy the Intermission DLC more after you've finished FF7R. Partly because Intermission is a bit more challenging, plus you'll likely have a bigger appreciation for what's being expanded on in the DLC after completing FF7R first.

@Barighm: I couldn't stand most of the Kingdom Hearts cutscenes and story I played (1 throguh 3), but loved the ending of FF7R Intermission DLC. Was pretty surprised they put that much into the ending.

@mogan: For anyone who is even a little bit of an FF fan, this DLC is extremely good. About the same level of quality as 6 hours of FF7R's higher end content, plus a bunch of side-stuff to do that I found plenty entertaining.

I spent more than 12 hours just completing almost everything on normal mode. I took my time exploring thoroughly, enjoying the scenery, spent time on challenges such as trying to beat Ramuh as soon as it's available, listened to almost all NPC dialogue, etc.

It took me a while to get the hang of Yuffies moves, but solo-attempting Ramuh helped a lot. Found out I had still missed 2 useful materia (and several Condor pieces) since the Junk Vendor rotates his wares, and hadn't noticed their was a second Whack-a-box level containing 3 more unique materia (which really forced me to understand some nuances to Yuffies fighting style I was clueless about.) Just grabbed what I missed on normal, going to grind an hour in the combat simulator to max a few materia, then going into hard mode well prepared.

This DLC is a must have for any FFVII fan. Absolutely worth $20. I splurged the extra $10 for the Cacstar weapon after I enjoyed normal mode so much. The DLC weapon comes with another interesting ability to learn and it's own perks, but I don't think it's crucial.

Suggestion: When you write an article warning fans about a video that contains a lot of spoilers, don't automatically play that spoiler filled video when they're reading the article!

So many advertisements. Looks like I'll be staying away from Gamespot videos.

@meedokicky: Got your friend request :) I don't do much multiplayer either, but would enjoy a fun co-op game.
